There was a time when buffalo sacrifice was done on some days of the year. Happily that is not done now and the temple is a nice place to visit on any day.

This temple is dedicated to mother goddess Tara showing her anger is a very old one. Located in the middle of the city of Guwahati & very near to the river Brahmaputra. I visit the temple mainly during the celebration of Durga Puja.I get mental peace after visiting this temple

Some believe it to be one of the 52 shaktipeeths, but searching on google doesnot support the believe. Probably to make this temple famous this believe is being expressed among outsiders through local people. It is located somewhere near Uzani Bazar in Guwahati and the driver has to ask directions many times to reach there.

This temple is situated near the Uzani bazaar Jorpukhuri tank in Guwahati. Ugra Tara is another form of Ma Kaali (Lord Kali). Some believes it to be another Shakti Shrine (pith) where the navel of Devi Sati is worshipped.
