You will cross the bridge while travelling to the lower northern part of the state like barpeta,Nalbari and even Tezpur if you choose to. But you cannot stop on the bridge and see the the view. the security personals won't allow you to. Rather, you can visit the Pandu Port ,Have a fantastic view of the bridge and the river.

I travelled across this bridge while living in Arunachal Pradesh. This bridge on the mighty river Brahmaputra looks grand whenever you take off from Guwahati airport. Had a chance to travel over the bridge recently and this time I thought of photographing it. The photographs, though, from phone camera came well.

I'm a Japanese learning India. This bridge looks like somewhat important for Guwahati. This connects the city and IIT Guwahati for instance. I did not know this is for cars and railway. 2 story bridge. I watched from distance also to see the characteristics of the bridge.

Our guide told us that this was one of the older bridges across the Brahmaputra River and it is the lifeblood for the far side!

Saw this bridge from the time it was being built in the late 1950's. Also was a passenger on the first passenger train that crossed the bridge. It then and for long after had 2 metre gauge tracks on the underbridge. The road bridge above is almost perpetually in a jam. The approaches had water bodies which have all been... More
