This temple is located in chandragiri Hills. There are ywo hills nearby chandragiri and indragiri. Visit early morning. You can reach by nearest railway station. You also get dolli options for old people as this has 400 odd steps.

Having paid visit to Hoysala temples we didn't find much interesting in terms of architectural uniqueness. There are 630 steps to climb to reach the main temple of Lord Gomateshwara. The steps are stone cast and get heated as the sun goes up. Prefer to...More

600 plus steps to reach the statue so you need a degree of fitness. Huge sculpture of a naked Jain deity which could well cause an attack of the vapours in certain ladies. Views for miles.

The temples and statue are located on a hilltop which we reach only after climbing up 600+ stairs. It's easy when there are clouds but not with scorching sun on your head. Despite all that, it's totally worth once you reach the top... the statue...More

I had visited chandragiri as a kid and teenager a number of times. But, as a mother of two, it was a different experience altogether. We went to this place on the way to Hassan... THAT was the mistake... We had hardly had anything to...More

Though the steps drain your energy, the view of lord bahubali and the surrounding is amazing. Better to start early in day or afternoon as the heat increases. Carry enough water to stay hydrated. Don’t forget to click the once in a lifetime moment.

It is the walk up the hill is more memorable than the statue itself. Nice place to spend 2-3 hrs. It might be good to climb the hill in the morning before it gets too hot in the noon. You will see lot of people...More

You have to change bus at Channaraypatna. Hassan which is 1 hour bus from CHannaraypatna is better place to leave. Shravanabelgola might have some accomodation as it is pilgrimage for Jains, but sometimes only for Jains.
