Every city will have one of this kind of bazaar. Kind of flea market. Visit this place just to experience the local culture. Avoid during rains as the place gets dirty with slush.

This market is a rabbit warren of tiny alleys, streets, nooks and crannies that is like a wondrous maze to get yourself lost in. I found it incredible for photography, as long as you're aware of your surroundings and wear good, closed-in shoes, have your camera on a blackrapid strap or similar (beware theives) be friendly to people and ask before... This is the Worst market I've ever seen with worst shopkeepers sitting. Its dirty as hell, people are rude and manner less - they spit almost on your feet shamelessly, and don't even apologise, the porters push you with their dirty bags without any apology ...all in all the worst place to buy anything. Its not worth going at all.... More

Had gone there to buy some local fruits but its extremely crowded. Not a very pleasant place to go. Rain added topping on the cake making it muddy all over.

We got there early around 830am as the vendors were setting up. We saw the pigs being delivered and being prepared for dissecting for sale. It... More

Bara Bazar is the place to buy local stuff, including fresh vegetables, meat and some items brought by local Khashi people which you can buy as a souvenir.

Probably interesting for foreigners. Looked like any other Indian bazaar except for the up and down topography. Not very clean. Lots of small eateries but not for vegetarians.
