This is the closest waterfall to Shillong city...One needs to walk a bit to reach the actual waterfall... but the view is worth the trek...

One can visit this place just to experience it..involves a lot of walking down by stairs. Not recommended for elderly persons having difficulty in walking. Good place to click pictures...

Obviously It should be better to visit Elephant Falls right after rainy season. But, you can visit the falls during Apr-May too, since the Falls is equally active before, after and during rainy season.

Yes, it remains active throughout the year but in monsoon it's in full swing. No sweat, you will definitely enjoy the falls in Jan also and if you are lucky, you may have some rain that time also which will add to the beauty... More
