Huge structure of one of the famous temples in Kanchipuram. We got there in the morning and parked up very close to the temple. Very photogenic building but you may have to stitch two or three photos together to see the whole picture.

One of the largest temples in Kanchipuram. We have been here several times but learn or experience something new everytime we go. There is definitely a holy feeling in the sanctum - call it feng shui or what you may, but I think this feeling is what attracts spiritual tourists. The lingam actually looks like it has been shaped amateurly... More

This is one of the oldest and largest shiva temple in India spread over about 25 acres built in 9th century. This is best suited even as a tourist attraction in view of the heritage and construction with beautiful and rare sculptures. Both the chola a dynasty( tamil) and Pallava Dynasty( telugu) have contributed to the construction and development of... More

we have reached this temple from thanjavour, the temple as a monument is impressing, although the large amounts of pedlar stalls at the entrance gate, disturb you to have a panoramic view. it is worth while visiting even as a detour, but consider that the temple is closed from 12.00 a.m. until 16.00 p.m.

This is situated in "periya kancheepuram "and the Auto driver asks for RS50/-oneway.If you visit during the temple prayer time you can listen to the vedic hymns sung in the original style, very rare to witness now. You can also listen to the Traditional yajur... More

Soon after entering in to the temple we will find a thousand pillar mandapam , scarves a mandapam and sacred pond. There is a big circle in the ceiling where beautiful... More
