- KatrinaSandhurst, United Kingdom41 contributionsWonderful scenaryDecided to do the two mile circuit with our elderly dog. Quiet and enjoyable with routes well marked. So many wildlife places exclude dogs so it was lovely to be able to take her around. At only £6.50 a car I think it’s a bargain!Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten September 18, 2023
- ManicroseBourne, United Kingdom1,513 contributionsGreat walksA lovely National Trust property. Several walking routes. We opted to do the longest one (about 5 miles) which has branches off to the heritage railway station and cliff top. Just a shame couldn’t get down to the beach from there. You only pay for car parking at this site rather than paying an entry fee. However they were quite pushy regarding becoming members when we paid for car parking. No need for it as not everyone can afford it or wants it.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten September 19, 2023
- Maggie HSomerset, United Kingdom86 contributionsLovely walks, shame about the coffee! We had never been there before, it was a lovely day and we really enjoyed the walking trails. My main problem was with the cafe. We got there 10.30 ish, it had rained earlier in the morning and all the exposed outside seats were wet. It would have been nice for the staff to wipe them for customers! Also the coffee, it was the worst cappuccino I have had in a long time, it tasted like hot watery milk & cost £3.30!!!!Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten September 22, 2023
- Heather P3 contributionsGreat park for a walk!Visited at the end of January. We are NT members, so car park & entry were free. Good signs and maps. We did the longer (red) trail. It was well marked and the paths were well maintained. Very clean facilities and a delightful cafe. Worth a visit any time of the year.Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten January 30, 2024
- JesstheKitty92 contributionsGreat choice of short circular routesWe chose the yellow route through the rhododendrons garden. Feb is a little early so not many of the flowers were out but enough to enjoy some colour. And loads of toads on one part of the walk. We happened on them by chance. Mating season so they were all making their way down to the water. The warden showed us the route and we had to tread with care to avoid stepping on them there were so many.Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten February 15, 2024
- lovebird488Bury St. Edmunds, United Kingdom115 contributionsBeautiful Camellias and RhododendronsVisited for the first time in the first week of March and was amazed by the size, numbers and variety of camellias and rhododendrons. Spacious parking, beautiful views and lovely walks, helpful staff / volunteers, gluten free scones all made for two enjoyable visits. We even joined the NT as members so we can enjoy more places while holidaying in Norfolk and back homeVisited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten March 6, 2024
- InvictaMotoHythe, United Kingdom763 contributionsSuperbSuperbly wooded area with a really good cafe. Very dog friendly on leads at all times. Though some owners can't read the signs. 😉. There is ample parking but if in a camper over a max of 6m then you need to park in the coach park.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten April 9, 2024
- Eliza DawnNottingham, United Kingdom1 contributionLovely place, but VERY busyOverall the park is beautiful, very well managed, however, the amount of people visiting today ( Sat 11th May) was manic. We visited the cafe on site, those poor Ladies were absolutely run off their feet, only 3 staff on? The queue was out the door! We encountered some very rude people in the queue, it wasn’t the staffs fault, it was VERY busy! I would suggest visiting in the week or waiting until a quiet time.Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten May 12, 2024
- Karen M24 contributionsThe highlight of our holidayAbsolutely loved our visit to the beautiful Sheringham Park. The walks had everything - parkland, wild gardens, woodland and coastal views. Easy to follow markers to follow the various walks. Highly recommend. Entrance is free although you have to pay for parking unless you are a National Trust member.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten June 6, 2024
- Hilliar2023Leicester, United Kingdom11 contributionsLovely country parkWell maintained paths, clear signposting along the routes. The NT member at the entry was lovely and helpful. We bought a membership from her. Only down side was the cafe. We were sitting enjoying ice creams and drinks in the outdoor courtyard when a staff member came and shut the gate leading to the toilets. I wanted the toilet so passed through the small cafe to find the toilet. Used the facilities and then returned to pass back through to find the door shut and locked up. It was my first time here so I was a bit panicked at how to find my family. Thankfully another patron directed me around the corner back to the courtyard. It might have been polite to just mention that they were shutting the gates and shop entry and that you can go around. Otherwise a really lovely visit.Visited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten August 7, 2024

This was my first visit to Sheringham Park and it won't be my last! There are plenty of different walks what made our trip memorable was the fact that we managed to see the steam trains as we walked close to weybourne station which is part of North Norfolk Railways. The views while walking round were truly spectacular if you like the countryside. The only charge is for parking £6 for the day please note there is no Hall to look at like at Fellbrigg so it's mainly for the walks. Parking is free if you are National Trust member. There is a nice coffee shop for refreshments and plenty of seating on a lawned area close by. The prices were not too expensive either which makes a change. I think if we had come here a few months earlier we would have seen a most spectacular display of rhododendrons, one to see next year! Not much for kids to do except walk so be prepared. You can cycle on some of the track but not all are cycle friendly.

One of our favourite places to walk, Sheringham Park is delightful throughout the year, but particularly so when the rhododendrons and azaleas are in full bloom. We took advantage of beautiful weather on the day before the November lockdown began. As it was a weekday there was no need to book a car parking space. It was quite busy along the main path down through the trees, but social distancing is possible if you step aside on the grass. We walked down through the park, as far as the road ( NB the gazebo tower lookout is closed at the moment). We continued across the road on a footpath between hedges, then along the edge of a field, to the top of the cliffs. At this point you can turn right along the cliffs next to the golf course, towards Sheringham, or left towards Weybourne. We chose the latter - lovely views along the cliff path which brings you down to Weybourne beach. From the car park we followed the footpath along the road to the village ( great coffee and cakes at the Village Stores next to the church ). The road continues to Weybourne station, where we turned left down a path alongside the railway line, which eventually led to a gate into Sheringham Park. It was then only a short walk up hill along the main path back to the car park. Total distance walked was 7 miles. A highly recommended walk.

National Trust open to all, this area of undulating woods and lawns was designed by Repton in 1812 but much amended over the years. It offers long walks through ornamental woods thick with plantings of azaleas and rhodo's, and long sweeps of lawn to the Georgian house (private) and the sea. There are several stepped towers for viewing, including one massively tall near the house (signed gazebo).
Fun for kids, for dog walkers, for canoodling couples. The large car park is near the cafe, shop and toilets. Extensive snowdrops.

We realise now, that visiting Sheringham Park on one of the hottest days was not such a good idea.
The grounds are beautiful but due to the hot summer we have had there were no flowers & colours to see.
We walked all the way to the viewpoint to discover it was closed due to social distancing measures. We were very disappointed and it would have been nice for the staff to inform us of this on arrival.
We wanted to support the National Trust and buy our lunch there but charging £1.65 for a small bottle of water is outrageous. The food also overpriced.
Unfortunately there are only two tables in the shade which were occupied so we left and purchased lunch elsewhere.
However, we will return at another time of the year.

Have had some lovely visits to Sheringham Park but our last visit was awful. No social
distancing and very crowded but worst of all we’re the number of cyclists charging round the place expecting you to jump off the paths so they could whizz by. It simply isn’t safe to walk. In addition there were people on electric scooters which are illegal what happens to these uninsured people if they knock someone over? No one had the courtesy to use their cycle bells and many of the people using the park are older people and probably their hearing isn’t what it once was. We are members of the NT and are seriously considering if our membership is one we want to continue. We left without having a beverage as the cafe was also not practising social distancing. Shame on you NT.

If you like Rhododendron trees in bloom this is the place for you. We walked from Weybourne vis the railway station to get into the park which is free (unless you use the National Trust car park which is pay and display except for members I presume. Great display of flowers when we visited in late May - I presume different species flower at different times. The park is well worth a visit - a cafe is situated within the grounds but you would need to check the opening times as we didn't visit them. Toilets are also available near the cafe.

We booked our car in for 10:00 (when it opens) and spent a lovely 3 hours at Sheringham Park. Some lovely walk - in woods, over fields with cows grazing, over the road and onto the walk overlooking the beach. We even saw the steam train go under the bridge! You can go on the long walks - or the shorter routes. Spend a couple of hours here or all day. The Cafe was offering a welcome take away service of hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, scones etc. Definately worth a visit. We will probably return on our next visit.

We visited on a full day. There was a great amount of space which was ideal for the grandkids to cycle although it was a bit of a trek back up to the start/cafe. Some super views across to the North Norfolk coast and nice to hear the steam train. There was some archery organised for the children when we enjoyed some hot drinks from the cafe. Cafe could have been better organised with very little space to milk and sugar coffees and teas.

We were lucky to get booked in for an afternoon time. Busy place but plenty of space and socially distanced. No problem parking but staff suggested you take a picture of the map with your phone. Don`t. Ask for a proper map. The signage around the walk is inadequate. However the walk is absolutely spectacular, the rhododendrons are beautiful and the specimen trees are stunning. There are picturesque view points (use your map) along the way and a choice of routes. We were on the right path but going in the opposite direction to the way marker which caused some tension as we couldn`t find the numbers that corresponded with the map and were panicking that we might not get back before the gates shut. Lucky for us we got back in time and bought an ice cream just before she closed. We were exhausted, but it was worth it.

Is it necessary to book to visit at any time and is the park op-ed

Yes I believe there is a play area for children but as we have never taken children there we are not too sure.

I’m not sure whether you are referring to getting to Sherringham Park or when you are in Sherringham Park? We got the bus from West Runton to the Park so avoided the long road that runs parallel to the park which isn’t pleasant walking. However, you can also walk from Sherringham to one of the main entrances to the park that is near the big country house, I.e. you turn left past the Sherringham railway station, over the railway bridge, cross the main road, keep walking past the school, turn right and you will walk past some houses and a pretty church. Keep walking and you will come to the entrance to the park. You can then walk through very pretty woodland and park to the cafe, which I think is only open on Saturdays during winter, for the Park Run. Hope this helps:)

Written June 26, 2018
The park tries to extend the season of the rhododendrons (!), within the limits of the species, so from late May to late June you should at least see a few. There are other things to visit for, too! Like the steam railway, picnic grounds, wildlife and spectacular views.

Hi how much are mobility scooter to hire there please
Written November 19, 2017
They were free, but you had to do a little driving test, drive to an area, turn and come back. That was in May. You might also have to book a scooter in advance. I don't know if you have to do this on the website. You also have to fill out a liability form. They are well worth it as you can see a lot more of the gardens. Hope this helps.
