If one picture on a postcard could sum up an idyllic English Seaside destination it would have to be Southwold Pier. Decked out across the sea in the picturesque coastal town of Southwold, this pillared walkway has a magnetic attraction and something for everyone to enjoy! There's so much to do a whole day can drift by while you walk the planks and explore this historic icon. Please note: Our opening times are weather permitting and therefore can change.

Unbelievably rubbish service, awful chips -get better at a late night burger van , fish was ok-ish...40 minute wait was a joke. Love Southwold, love the pier but never never getting overpriced rubbish from the pier cafe again. Go into the town to the Little Fish and Chip Shop. Wish I'd asked for refund and gone there.

We took a sunday morning stroll along the pier, a little breezy but a pleasant walk. The shops weren't quite what we were lead to believe they were but they were pleasant to look around. Very entertaining to read some of the plaques along the pier railings

Nice Pier to visit and lovely views of Southwold from the end of the pier. Being the North Sea you get a refreshing breeze off the sea especially if the wind is in the East. There are a couple of shops to browse in and an amusement arcade along with Under The Pier Show. You can buy a plaque to... More

We visited the pier which looked so pretty lit up at night, only to find that it was closed, so we never did get to walk along it - only admire it from a distance. It is worth seeing if only to admire.

We explored the pier as we are bringing a party of 18 adults plus kids ranging from 13 downwards and wanted to see if it would be worth bringing them to the pier. A big fat YES to that. It has got enough to entertain the kids for hours until their money runs out, fish and chips of course, and... More

We were obviously a bit lucky in that, although mid March, it was not too cold or windy.Enjoyed the shops, quirky amusement and water clock. Like others, thought the cafes overpriced - over £10 for fish and chips!

We visited out of season and only arrived at 5PM so didn't expect to find much open. To our delight there were all sorts of things to look at and do even when the shops were closed.

Every time we visit the pier it's blooming cold or there is a bracing Winfred as it was yesterday. It's nice to visit but you can't stay long as it is so cold. We only saw one cafe and one shop open but to be fair it's out of season but what surprises us is all the car parked nearby.... More
