We are a Grade One Listed 1930s modernist building on the sea front in Bexhill on Sea, East Sussex, recently refurbished as a centre for the arts. When you walk in, you will find Gallery 1, a large gallery, on the ground floor. The current exhibition is Willem Sandberg: from type to image which opened on 30 April and continues until 4 September. On the ground floor you will also find the Box Office and Information Desk where tickets can be booked for any of our live events. There is also a shop where you can buy books, prints, cards and gifts. We have a large, 1930s auditorium where we present contemporary music, comedy, cinema and other live events. We also have a busy programme of courses, workshops and activities for all ages. Upstairs is Gallery 2, which reopens on Saturday 18 June with The People's Pavilion: Our First 80 Years and continues until Sunday 31 June. Our popular Café Bar & Kitchen can also be found on the second floor and serves delicious warming lunches, tasty salads and freshly - prepared soups and sandwiches to enjoy using locally-sourced ingredients. Our generously - sized home-made cakes, scones and cookies are too tempting to resist and are perfect when served with a delicious Illy Coffee and Fair Trade teas -perfect after a walk along the seafront on a cold winter's day. There is a children's lunch menu for those who want to treat the family. We also serve bar food before evening shows and offer a breakfast menu at weekends. There is a changing display of installations in the rooftop foyer. Doing Looking Working Performing (DLWP) opens Saturday 18 June in parallel to exhibition in Gallery 2. Starting with an eight hour improvised installation using sound and objects by two artists. The resulting installation will be open until 31 July. If the weather is good, you can step out on to the roof to enjoy the best views of the English Channel, all the way to Beachy Head. There is a large Rother District car park (free after 8pm) and free parking along the seafront. The Pavilion is less than 10 minutes walk from the station.

I had not seen the De La Warr Pavilion since it had its big facelift. What a beautiful building this is. Friends and I went to see the art exhibits and these are very well curated and displayed. The art itself was fascinating and there are new and regular changed to the exhibited artists. Make time to walk around the... More

I've been to the De La Warr Pavillion many different times for things such as: - Art Exhibitions - Comedians (Stand Up) - Karate Demonstrations - Music Concerts - Outdoor events There's almost always something happening at the De La Warr, so even if there isn't a specific event you wish to attend, it might be a nice place to... My mother spent a lot of time here as her mother lived in Bexhill and we went down as kids in the summer where we had a beach hut. The fish and chips are her favourite although this time the chips were a little disappointing - they had taken them out too early. The fish feels as if it has... More

On the look out for art on our south coast gate-away, we were surprised by this gallery. First the building is Art Deco it is located in the sea side. There was 2 exhibitions when we went and it was totally worst stopping by. I thought it was well displayed and interesting . The book store has a decent selection... More

Stunning Art Deco building that was refurbished a while back , maybe about 10 years now ? Always enjoy a visit here and there's a cafe on the first floor where you can if you wish sit on the balcony with fantastic sea views. The must see attraction in Bexhill on sea.

The building is the best. The views, the design, the details. Fantastic art show by Elizabeth Price that was free. The cafe is buzzy, you can enjoy your lunch or coffee on the balcony which is unbeatable for views on a sunny day. There are gigs on most nights too.

Very well organised, several bars. Friendly and helpful ushers. They had both seated and standing areas. They seemed to be helpful to disabled guests.

I have been a visitor and supporter for years but have to say it is only improving year upon year. The events cater for a wide range, the exhibitions varied and the restaurant/cafe always a delight. The building itself is amazing and if only they started a cocktail sundowner club I would challenge anybody to beat the balcony views at... More
