great atmosphere! Landlord awesome!

Tom the landlord is awesome. Great atmosphere and great ales etc. Can't ask for more. they even have great t-shirts for sale! They are also a great venue for bands etc.

Tom the landlord is awesome. Great atmosphere and great ales etc. Can't ask for more. they even have great t-shirts for sale! They are also a great venue for bands etc.

Only been there once but the locals were very friendly, making way for us the get to the bar. Beer was excellent and the idea of allowing people to eat in with a takeaway is really innovative. I will definitely be going back.

Best beer in town. Extremely friendly and well priced. They actively encourage bringing in food from local take aways even supplying plates cutlery and menus. Fantastic atmosphere with families and children welcome.

The Red Lion is what every local pub should aspire to. The pub is really well done with a great atmosphere, especially if you can get near the log burner. Great selection of drinks and worth a visit just to experience the men's urinals!

Fantastic local with everything you could want ... great staff and a great choice of ales and other drinks.....full credit to the staff team ! Definitely worth a visit ...and dogs allowed 😎....proper job !

The in laws have used The Red Lion a few times so as we were eating just round the corner we thought we'd have a swift pint. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by a cheery landlord who is happy to let you try before you buy from his extensive and very good range of tap ales.... More

A real nice pub in manningtree Shame I was driving so coffee only for me on this visit !!! Nice friendly atmosphere and a lovely garden area too Gents you have to use the toilets for a great surprise feature I will be back for that beer

Love The Red Lion firstly you can enjoy eating your takeaways in the pub they provide plates and cutlery whilst having a great pint of beer. Secondly they have fantastic live music events upstairs some Saturday nights and thirdly its very dog friendly WELL DONE thankyou.

Our kind of pub…. as you open the door, you are greeted by comfortable leather armchairs which simply say “rest with us.” We did and were not disappointed. This is the sort of pub that anyone would feel welcome at. Did not need food but felt it would have been acceptable. Enjoyed the delightful local (mostly Georgian) buildings around the... More

brought our fish & chip take away here for our lunch last week. Good quality beers/ciders etc. on tap. Staff friendly as usual. Clientele pleasant. Seats comfy.
