We visited the Deal Time Ball Tower for the first time at the end of August 2016. It is full of time based artefacts to illustrate the history of the Time Balls and Time Pieces across the centuries. The climb to the top is steep and narrow, so not a place for those who find stairs difficult. At the top... More

One of a kind and vital to the crews of sailing vessels when the area between the shore and the Goodwin Sands was a major anchorage.

Small museum with lots of information on timekeeping and ways of signalling messages. The introductory video gives a good explanation but is somewhat dated (and comical in parts). The views from the top floor are very good.

Small local museum stuffed with chronological and naval exhibits. Highlight for me was the 18 minute film explaining time measurement with the aid of stonewashed denim, ham acting and fantastic 80s music. £3 well spent.

We visited this museum today and we loved it!!!!. We did not plan the visit, but when we walked in the street and saw the ball at the top of the building and had a chat with the man at the entrance, we wanted to know more about this amazing place. The 3 pound entrance was worth it!!! Thanks to... More

Only costs three pounds to get in greeted by a very pleasant man lots of imformation on how ships calculated where they are in the world. There are binoculars and telescope so on a clear day you have a view of France well worth a visit.

This is a fantastic and very interesting place to visit, with lots of maritime history. It only costs £3 to get in, so also very good value for money. Allow approx. 1 to 2 hours.
