My favourite local. Traditional and comforting pub...part haven, part sanctuary from the worst aspects of modern life. Beautifully run by friendly owner with great 'drinks' knowledge. Good bar-snacks and excellent restaurant offering great value, home cooking. Pretty garden. I miss 'The Albert' very much when I am away from Deal.

Used to be known for its excellent Sunday roast beef. Now only features one roast but is very good. This with its excellent beer makes for a very pleasant Sunday lunchtime

I will give it another go, in-case we read the vibe incorrectly. But with such fierce competition in walking distance it will need to improve.

As soon as you walk through the original old wooden doors of this pub, you feel the relaxed, mature ambiance surrounding you. Always a great selection of real ales and some lovely wines. This is definitely NOT the place for children. Situated at the North end of the busy town's high street, this is an oasis of calm. Colin and... More
