Great walk

We walked up and around and around we had our dogs who were really enjoying it. A great place to sit and have a picnic chat and soak in the views.

A lovely place to visit, wonder around, sit in the sun, have a picnic. Not a huge amount to see, but is a nice spot of history, with a smashing playground, cheap parking and access to fabulous crabbing beach. Our family (2 adults, 2 teenagers and a very enthusiastic 10 year old) managed to pull out 100 good sized crabs... More

Went down there over the Easter Bank Holiday with my partner. Always seen this from Herne Bay, but not been since I was a young child. The drive there takes you down some narrow country paths, so do watch your speed! Parking was a slight nightmare but eventually we obtained a parking space (guess that it was more due to... More

An interesting site with the remains of both a Roman fort and a 12th century church with imposing twin towers. Information panels explain various features of the site, which is free to visit. There is an adjacent car park (not English Heritage ) which costs 80p per hour. Nearby there are very clean public toilets, a pub which serves food... More

This place is an absolute gem! Lovely location with a great pub and a brilliant playpark suitable from babys right up to young teenagers. We have had many a lovely day out here and when the weather is nice you can use the picnic tables or the cafe over the road sells a nice array of food for decent prices;... More

From the front the towers could almost look quite modern, didn't expect there to be so much history attached to the place. Good park for the children to play in, toilets close by and a public house for food and drink. There is also a visitor centre close by but was shut when we were there.

Worth a visit if in the area. Lots of families with young children. History and wildlife for the adults. Play park for the kiddies. A busy pub very close to pay ( the food looked good) and display car park which is due to be enlarged. Reasonable fee for a couple of hours. There is a cafe nearby and a... More

Well worth a visit if in the area. A lot of history and great coastal views. Good pub next to car park and plenty of good walks and cycling.

If you are in Herne Bay and looking for places to visit, this place is worth a visit, easy to find a car park near by. The tower has lots of interesting history. There are also good facilities near by.
