Main sands can be packed during the season but the more towards Broadstairs you walk the less touristy it gets. Enjoy peace and quiet and sea without crowds! Take your dog your bicycle and you will be in heaven :)

....But so much seaweed which can sometimes be unbearably smelly. The views are to die for, though. It is also well maintained with walls being built to manage to keep the cliffs safe.

Walpole Bay is another sandy beach in Margate along the coast at Cliftonville. It has the oldest tidal pool in the South, maybe all England. The waters are lovely and refreshing. Only down side is the lack of conveniences and lifeguards here.

We were staying in the area and had a long walk. The beach itself is lovely but the whole area is a little tired and in need of investment.

This is a nice tidy beach. The prom goes all the way to Margate main beach, and all the other way to the poo factory, all in all about 3 miles, and I think it goes further on the margate side. Great for long walks...More
