An amazing piece of architecture, small and quirky amazingly undulating floors. If you are interested in early English theatre the exhibits give you an insight into the people and costumes of the day. The lady volunteers were a mine of information and enthused about their...More

Although I did not know anything about this actress (I'm german), it was nice visiting this site. Well tended old house. It was mentioned that on special dates there are still some theater events. Check out!

Smallhythe Place in Kent is a 16th-century house and cottage gardens built in the early 16th-century when Smallhythe was a thriving shipbuilding port. The gardens include a cottage garden, a vintage tea room and a charming 17th-century thatched Barn Theatre which is still being used...More

The house is the main attraction and is fabulous. The on site cafe is homely and serves a variety of snacks.. the afternoon tea and cake was lovely.

A small property a bit off the beaten track but well worth the visit both for itself and the wonderful onsite tea rooms - make sure you allow time you leave time for a snack stop!

Didn't know what to as I had heard of Ellen Terry but knew nothing about her or her life. This property brought everything to life with the most informative and interesting guides. Great local history as well...worth a visit.

On a very warm and sunny day I revisited this charming medieval house. The displays have been upgraded and extended. The gardens were lovely and I was delighted by the changes.
