Whitstable is a charming small city with lots of shops, restaurants and groceries. It is a nice seaside locale with beaches and a scenic harbor. It is worth a visit in the spring, summer or autumn.

Lovely "high street" with shops and eateries but what an ugly seaside view you get in Whitstable. Industry/ grey buildings/ not a nice feel/ not for us. Better visit Broadstairs or Deal.

Quaint and great small shops, an old fashioned charm, right near the beach. Enjoyed a wander, some nice little gift shops and fish and chips at Ossies fish bar, see separate review.

One of the most interesting town centres I have seen. Lots of art galleries, independent shops, lovely old buildings and a ridiculous amount of coffee shops.

A quirky typical sea side town that has not changed too much over the years. A sheer cornucopia of small shops and businesses. There is a plethora of small cafe's where the traveler and indeed the weary shopper can sit down and sample excellent coffee,...More

You can do Whitstable in three hours, but worth doing it slowly and enjoying the place, stopping for coffee or lunch or an ice cream and browsing the shops. Then time for a brisk walk up to Tankerton and some great views... More
