Great day out

Good cheese tasting area, interesting museum, good area for kids with Wallace and gromit. Only downfall if there isn't demonstrations everyday.

Fun visit to the Wensleydale creamery. Stocked up in the shop after some sampling. Only down side and reason for 4 stars was that we went at the weekend and no cheese was being made which was a shame. Perhaps more demonstrations needed at the weekend.

A working cheese factory, museum area and a large gift and cheese shop with a cafe and restaurant. The cheese tasting room is always well stocked and although the gift shop has been "upgraded" and has some lovely presents it has lost some of the sale items I used to buy such as nicely decorated cake tins. Applepay hasn't really... More

I like cheese and enjoy Wensleydale cheese. The drive here from Harrogate is well worth it, as it is a lovely part of the country. The cheese tasting is great, we tried lots of different varieties and bought a selection of cheeses to take home. The disappointing aspect of this was the museum and viewing gallery. If it had been... More

Called in again on our mini tour of Yorkshire. This place never fails to please, around twenty five cheeses to taste and purchase, lovely shop and cafe, plus cheese making tours, no wonder that this place is always busy.

We had an enjoyable time learning about the history of Wensleydale Cheese and the Creamery-we did not pay the extra for the demonstration but enjoyed the viewing area but not as much as the cheese tasting at the end-loads of choices to try-personal favourites-wensleydale & ginger, wensleydale & pineapple, wensleydale & caramelised onion and the best , which was Wensleydale... It's a cheese factory.......so if you like cheese then why not? The walk around is full of little activities and facts, it's a reasonably small charge to enter, and you get to see the cheese made in front of you. Our kids loved it, and obviously it's educational at the same time, so a win-win. Afterwards go take a look... More

Interactive displays, a viewing gallery and a guide to cheese making, topped off with cheese tasting and a lovely coffee shop! We spent a happy couple of hours there.

The sunny weather in Hawes sure draws the crowds, who also visit the creamery. The shop was full, the cafe packed and a small queue was at the cheese tasting room. We joined it and shuffled around the tasting table trying out the various cheeses and selecting a portion of out favourites for purchase. I don't understand how some kind... More

This was the second time we have visited with a more modern visitor experience in the process of being built. The visitor experience is relatively quick but we came this time more to go to the shop which is excellent. You can try all of the cheeses and purchase lots of other items too. This time we ate in the... More
