So much fun to explore and walk around the exterior walls. I really enjoyed sitting in the castle for awhile, imagining where the walls, floors, and doors used to be, and what was going on here hundreds of years ago.

Great historic castle in the lovely town of Richmond. Richmond is well-worth a visit, and this castle supplies historic perspective on both the town and the castle. We had a great stroll around and through this magnificent structure.

Worth a visit. Good for picnics and a chilled day out. Good for the price although the women behind the counter added gift aid after me saying no!

It was interesting reading the history of the castle in the small exhibition room. The castle ruins where you had to use your imagination of what it used to be. There was a party of school children who were having a wonderful time exploring the...More

It should be possible if you leave quite early in the day. You would need to catch a train from Kings Cross to Darlington and then a direct bus from Darlington to Richmond. The train journey is about 2.5 hours being a high... More

There are a lot of steps, about 2-3 storeys but they are straight and fairly even so not too bad.
