Roaring fires, thousands upon thousands of books, a great cafe, a lovely children's section and a model train overhead - what more can be said! The whole family absolutely loved this place (not to mention the bag full of books we came away with).

We took books especial to swap this time a firm favorite with my boys. Had to wait for a very long time for a table. The portion was very large and good tasting.

I've been visiting Barter Books for over 25 years and every time I come it gets better and better. So many books to peruse, such lovely helpful staff and a fab cafe. You can spend many many wonderful hours here feeding your body and soul.

Absolutely amazing place, you need a few hours to look around unless you go for a specific genre. My girls loved the childrens area, dog friendly. A must visit!
