Returned for our third visit to see open air Shakespeare; beautiful gardens with delightful hosts who allow this charity event to take place at their home. A hidden gem in a heavenly village. Hats off to them, a really lovely evening. Lovely plants for sale during summer months with an honesty box attached to the post, the plants we got... More

My Daughter decided to celebrate her wedding festivities at Whalton following a church ceremony. The location is out of the way but not too far to travel to Morpeth/Newcastle and you can get to Newcastle International Airport by a direct route and there are lots of hotels here for guests to stay. The gardens look absolutely beautiful and are very... More

Visited this venue as there was a wedding open day. Absolutely gorgeous. Grounds are immaculate. Perfect for anyone wanting a 'country-style' wedding. So much choice and can tailor the wedding to exactly what you want.

It s a real hidden gem, with homemade scones and cakes served in an old stone building in the garden, or in the stables area. You are likely to meet the owners who are really friendly and will show... More

I am sorry you felt the garden was not as you expected, but I wonder if you may have missed some of our many borders with their huge range of plants and original and varied planting combinations ,set within the 3 acres of historic gardens .The blue Himalayan poppies... Historically significant, this 17th century house with its 3 acre garden is bursting with inspirational planting and magnificent architectural structures. Roses are in full bloom in June. Outstanding display of Topiary.

All in all, it makes one think of it as the perfect little English manor house and garden. The village is quite a nice little village, as well. Not... More
