About
Stanton Hall is situated west of Morpeth in Englands northern county, Northumberland. A small family run business, it offer something different from the larger garden centres. The gardens here at Stanton Hall have evolved as the business expanded over 30 years to the mature and wide-range of planting that we have today. Each time more area has been opened up to stage plants for sale, separate areas of gardens have been created. Our gardens show what can be achieved with the plants that we sell in the Nursery. They also are set out to give ideas about colour, grouping and mixtures of shrubs, perennials, herbs and general planting structures. The gardens are best from May onwards and are free to visit.

Gorgeous place, well kept, great choice of plants, with lesser known plants and varieties, too. Well informed, helpful staff 👍👍

Family owned & run - beautiful gardens & a huge choice of healthy plants to buy at reasonable prices. Plus great cakes in the Gingan hut.

Stanton Hall is beautiful. Built for Fredrick and Hulda Stanton, designed by Natchez architect, Thomas Rose, it if 5 stories tall and originally 14,000 sq. ft. It covers a full city block. Many of the original pieces are still there. Beautifully maintained by the Pilgrimage Garden Club.

Superb gardens and very reasonable plant prices

We visited Alnwick Gardens the day before £17 this garden is free and Alnwick Gardens are not in the same league

This garden is a must seen

Absolutely lovely place. A chance find given the weather was so lovely. This is a nursery on the land of a beautiful (private) home. The gardens (not extensive) are utterly gorgeous and it was so helpful to wander round them before looking in the substantial nursery.

The layout is gorgeous, a number of polytunnels filled with plants and many areas of landscaped gardens, with lovely weathered garden walls and ornaments and plants in situ.

My sister and I spent several very happy hours wandering the gardens and perusing the plants. I took heaps of photos for ideas. We also had tea and coffee and biscuits in the lovely GinGan round building - so gorgeous. You could probably take a sandwich and sit in there too.

We bought masses of plants that looked very healthy and were excellent value. Most of them seem to have been grown on site.

The little shop also sells beautiful salt glazed pots and troughs too.

If they delivered, I’d be bankrupt.

Glorious place.

What a stunning place with a fantastic range of plants to stun even the most discerning of gardeners! For those less knowledgeable about gardening the staff are hugely helpful and willing to give plenty of advice. I have yet to buy a plant from here that hasn’t stood the test of time, or the harshness of a Northumbrian winter.
Everyone should try out the honesty cafe in the Gingan which is fantastic fun. Beyond the garden centre, the gardens themselves are beautiful and it is a unique experience to mingle the ability to purchase plants with the stunning array of well established gardens! A must for people to visit and buy a plant or 7!

First visit today, we will now be regulars, what a find this place is. Never again will I visit the big chains of garden centres. .. The gardens to walk around are beautiful, the nursery itself has an incredible amount of choice and real value for money, coffee and cake in the GinGan was gorgeous, and so peaceful. The young lady who works there, I think the owners daughter is a credit to them, so helpful and full of knowledge, and so polite … Thank you , we will be back

This nursery is absolutely outstanding. Claire, one of the owners, is so knowledgeable and friendly and the range of plants, so many of them grown at Stanton Hall, is superb. Every time I visit I come home with a vast array of plants I never knew I ‘needed’ until I saw them blooming in these beautiful gardens. Today I visited with my daughter who knows little about gardening but who has been totally inspired! The prices here are also extremely competitive eg today I bought the most beautiful floribunda rose for only £10 .

This really is my favourite nursery, a true gardeners’ garden and I can’t urge you enough to visit.

Absolute heaven for gardeners!!
We made a short detour here while travelling on holiday...... OMG, Just a beautiful countryside setting, such a tranquil garden to walk around and see plants of every type growing happily in their natural environment.
As you walk round you can collect all your plants from one type or another at very reasonable prices. The owners have truly got a great love of gardening to create not only a fantastic garden but the best plant nursery I think I've ever been to!!
The only thing wrong with this place is that the baskets and boxes are too small for such wonderful purchases, I could have filled a wheelbarrow 😊.
100% recommend, do not pay twice the price at places like Dobbies etc. This place is a gem, we'll be back one day!

Beautiful market garden that doesn't feel like a market garden more like you've stepped into the most amazing landscape filled with a multitude of plants and flowers. The gardens are stunning and the plants for sale such good quality.
