Love it!

This is about our 7th visit and still love it. We tried the red run this time after trying the green (3 miles) and the blue run (6miles) previously. We really enjoyed it. The... read more

When we arrived, we had to try several ticket machines before we could find one that was actually working and would just accept coins rather than card payment which seemed to be playing up for everyone. Ive never seen queues so long a parking ticket machines! It would be better if the Gruffalo Oreienteering pack (which is a map and... More

Everything is relatively but the pines is changing into a version of alton towers, I go for the mountain bike trails, which at the moment are poor but there is very little in the area, since our last visit lots of cabins have popped up making you feel your no longer in a woods, plus car parking is increased to... This is about our 7th visit and still love it. We tried the red run this time after trying the green (3 miles) and the blue run (6miles) previously. We really enjoyed it. The parks have been altered slightly, slightly disappointed the raised wooden trail around the park has now been taken down but the children still enjoyed the Robin... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our break. Lodge was wonderful, lovely and warm with underfloor heating and log burner. Hot tub was great and checked every day. Forest retreat staff very helpful, can get drinks, meals and book activities there. Plenty of walks and for the more adventurous go ape, segway and cycling just a short walk away or can go by car.

We had a lively few hours all wrapped up following the gruffalo trial. Lots to do here! The older children (and adults) of the group enjoyed a 'go ape' session whilst the others relaxed with a coffee! Great place for dogs, kids, bikes....the whole family! We walked to the park from our log cabin so not sure how much it... More

You have to pay yo park, but it is reasonable. There is bike hire, go ape, segways, and a cafe. Visitor centre never have any maps!! Cycle trails take much longer than the shop suggest if you are not regulars and no phone signal! So we got stuck in The forest in the dark, on hard track, no lights and... More

An excellent place to visit with all levels of cycling catered for from the black runs to family rides, there is even a cycle hire for those not able to take their own there.
