Creswell Crags is a world famous archaeological site, a limestone gorge with caves and lake, home to Britain's only known Ice Age Cave Art. This art is thought to date to about 13,000 years ago and provide a glimpse into the rich culture and fascinating life of our distant relatives. Over 100 years of archaeological work at the site has unearthed stone tools and remains of animals providing evidence for a fascinating story of life during the last Ice Age.

Introducing a fixed parking charge of £3 for an all day visit is not something I welcome. No reference is made that disabled can still park in reserved bays free of charge when displaying Blue badge. The displays in the small shop had been rearranged since our previous visit stopping wheelchair visitors from gaining access. Being local we visit here... More

Good Afternoon We are sorry that you feel this way. Good news is that we have reviewed our signage and now have a sign on the parking machine that explains that disabled parking is free, but a voluntary contribution is always most appreciated. Thanks again for your review, we are always looking at ways we can improve. Kind Regards, Rachel... More

Googled where we could go,£3 to park, the rest is free. Lovely walk, kids enjoyed it,I think the dog did too. Very reasonably priced pot of tea for two in the cafe and the gift shop had pocket money things to buy.....which makes a nice change.

This is a very special place, with a cave tour where you can learn about incredible prehistoric artwork. There is also a good visitor centre.

Not great to get to as a pedestrian with pushchair. In fact it's the worst place walking from a train station that I've ever been to. After the hardest walk ever to try and pluck up the energy to walk round was difficult so took some of the enjoyment. However it is very nice and clean. Cafe is nice. Didn't... More

We enjoyed a walk around with our toddler and baby in buggy. Fairly accessible for both young, old and disabled. Lovely scenes, educational, animal & child friendly. Great wooden play equipment dotted about. The shop, museum and cafe are a nice touch. The hot chocolate was really good to warm me up. Partner had a ham & cheese panini which... More

Iz and I had some friends over for a few days last week and on a cold but sunny day we headed to Creswell Crags for a stroll around the lake in the Gorge. We paid the £3.00 car park fee which gains entrance to the Visitor Centre and the 0.5km long limestone Gorge itself, so a bargain if ever... More

Arrived at lunchtime and was disappointed to find that the next cave tour wasn't until 3pm (we were unable to stay that long) Personally I'd have thought a list of tour times on their website and a sign as you enter would be helpful. The lady on the counter was helpful and told us we could walk around the site... More

The visitor centre is new and well done, if a little sparse. The small car looks over the woodlands and serves lovely muffins. There is a children's play area, den building area and seating as well as a short walk around a small lake lined with the crags and caves used by ancient animals and early people. There are guided...
