Escape to the fantabulous world of the Alton Towers Resort - there's so much going on, the fun never stops! England's largest theme park offers 500 acres of attractions and rides the whole family can enjoy including X-Sector, Forbidden Valley, Dark...more
We tend to visit Alton Towers every 5 years but arriving this time was very disappointed. The popular rides you have no chance of accessing due to the hour and half queue time, equate this to how much time you actually spend on the ride...More
Just back from a great two day break at Alton Towers. Stayed at the hotel, rooms comfortable. Evening meal adequate but the self service breakfast was perfect for us all. Managed to ride Wickerman 5 times by going at the beginning and end of the...More
I've always been a big Alton towers fan and have had many great days out over the years. This was a bit of a disappointing day in comparison. Firstly the opening hours hours are quite short during the week, too short in my opinion for...More
Our strategy is to go to places like this on a wet schoolday. Even so, the queues were up to about 45 mins which is about as much as I was prepared to do. Staff were helpful. My wife didn't want to go on some...More
Great place to visit. Amazing rides and lots to see and do.
As you'd expect lots for all ages from Ceebebies world to the Smiler and the castle itself.
Great for a day out for sure.
I would always recommend fast track and the queues...More
Visited on a Sunday using 2 free tickets and used a bogof voucher for the two kids. Even at this off peak time of the year a ticket is still £55 and £6 parking. The park opened before 10am but some of the rides don't...More
haven't been for over a decade. great choice of new and older rides and set in stunning grounds - a great day out, and worth staying longer if you want to experience everything there (we managed to do all of the big ones..just, in one...More
We went on Thursday the 21st of September and the first 2 hours were pretty flawless, the park allowed non early ride time guests in at around 9:40 (we parked in the express parking because £10 to not have to deal with the monorail is...More
Went Sunday with Sun newspaper tickets and a paid for ticket for our daughter.
Arrived early so a short wait to get in through the actual gates (Hotel guests have priority, obviously their business is more important to Merlin than us paupers with free tickets)....More
I spent 3 days in Alton Towers Hotel, To be honest I have stayed in better Premier Inns at a fraction of the price. Not really a special hotel, we had a pleasant stay but doubt ill return. very over priced restaurants, better to go...More

If you mean to the theme park then just entry and the chance to ride any of the attractions. You will need to pay extra for everything else e.g car park. You can pay even more to "queue jump" to the front of the queue for rides but they are expensive. Two day tickets don't cost that much more than one day tickets but then you have to find somewhere to say overnight. Lots of good value Premier Inns within 30 mins drive. We always stay in Derby.
