Lovely place but entrance to farm needs monitoring.
A lovely place, the animals are all very well looked after and the tearooms are lovely. However, the children's play area and farm need some monitoring. I booked and paid online, no-one was monitoring anyone paying for entry people were just walking in and the numbers of children in the play area and barn were far too many. They need to re-think their entry conditions they're losing out on entry fees.

    An Easter visit.
To celebrate Easter we booked in advance the farm and tea rooms. We were not disappointed. The staff have everything so organised. We were early and it got busy as the day progressed. Opportunity to feed all the animals and hold younger ones was a hit for our five year old. Feed is available at a small fee from the reception desk. The Paddington trail was very well done and rewarded with an egg and rosette. The cafe we knew from previous visit how well organised they are. We were a large group and had pre ordered food. Fantastic service excellent quality of food. Thank you it was a lovely visit.

A mixed review this time but wouldn’t stop us visiting again.
We love this farm however our last visit was a little tainted. We noticed this time there was a couple of people walking around with dogs on leads, no problem with this however when we walked around the path to see the animals outside, our children ran over to play in the triangular play shed and was looking at the book book when we spotted dog poo that someone hadn’t picked up and that the children nearly stepped in. I’m not sure how you can control dog owners being responsible enough to pick up their dogs poo however maybe not let dogs in as some children are also scared of them. We informed a staff member and they picked it up which isn’t their responsibility. The other things was that the cafe was very expensive, we ordered a cream tea and was asked at the till what kind of tea we wanted, we told the lady serving and proceeded to the table. The cakes and drinks came apart from the pot of tea, we then asked where it was and one of the waitresses brought it over with a receipt, we told her that it was what had already been ordered and paid for and that we hadn’t received it first time round. She said ok no problem. On leaving the cafe we was followed outside by a staff member and asked if we was going to pay for the pot of tea, we explained what had happened and that we had already paid. It was so embarrassing especially in front of other people entering and around the entrance to the cafe! The pot of tea that we supposedly didn’t pay for cost £2.20 or £2.50. The other thing in the cafe is that as soon as you take your last bite of food there is someone at your table clearing it away. Other than the few things above the farm Is lovely, the animal feed is a good price and everywhere is very clean. The animals are all so well looked after and their pens are so clean. All the animals are friendly and easy for little ones to see and pet if they can. The petting area is lovely and the lady working in there helping children to handle the rabbits and Guinea pigs is so lovely and informative too when the children ask a question. The outdoor play area is lovely and clean too, there was only one tractor working when we was there but that was fine, at least one was as we had pre brought tractor tokens.

Pumpkin hunt - went with grandchildren. Overpriced and underwhelmed. Exceedingly boggy and spent over £30 on a very short, rather uninspiring ‘ treasure’ hunt. Too wet to enjoy the playground. I would not recommend this experience.

After being several times before and being really impressed to the point of recommending it to friends, I’m left very disappointed after our most recent visit.

We had arranged to meet friends here. Upon arrival at 10 in the morning, the car park was already full due to lots of cars parking over 2 spaces. We managed to squeeze our car into the last tiny space left. Not ideal with two very young children, but it’s not enough to put a dampener on the day. I had prebooked tickets and I headed to the cafe as this is where we have shown our entry tickets in the past to get our wrist bands. When we arrived at the cafe, my child chose his animal food and I was informed that we didn’t show our tickets at the cafe any more, but a little shed near what used to be the exit. I asked if I could still pay for the animal feed there and I was told this would not be necessary as there was all the same food available for purchase outside. So, I turned round. Upon leaving I heard a different member of staff muttering to the lady that spoke to me about ‘reading the sign outside.’

Yes, later I had discovered that there was a sign outside saying prebooked tickets this way, but when you are trying to negotiate a busy car park with 2 very small children, where lots of cars are turning round due to the lack of space, your first thought isn’t to look out for handwritten signs when you’ve already been previously.

The rude comment was beginning to put a bit of a downer on the day at this point.

Then, once we arrived at the ticket shed outside, my child once again picked up the animal food and I showed our tickets. I got out my card to pay for the animal food when the woman at the ticket shed oh no, you can’t use card here- you have to go inside to use card. The same place I had just been turned away from and told to purchase outside! Obviously this upset my child greatly and I was not willing to go back inside again after being turned away the first time.

My child then started his visit in tears and wishing we had gone to a different farm instead where they let you pay for animal food…

It’s a shame because it’s a great little place. Lovely large and clean play area that’s obviously very well looked after. Lovely animal enclosures and obviously well cared for and happy animals. But staff making rude comments about customers and the general lack of communication needs addressing.

The animals seem happy and the area is clean. My daughter enjoyed feeding the animals and the play area was good. However as you are told you cannot consume food/drink that is not purchased onsite( I did not know this on booking) the food prices are quite high. £5 for a child and around £10 for an adult not including drinks. There is not enough space and had to eat on a bench after paying restaurant prices, which was hard for my toddler.
There is also no space for prams in the restaurant, which made it difficult to get around.
Overall the farm was small but nice for a little trip out if you live locally, so you don’t have to have lunch.

Brought our daughter here last month and we thought it was fantastic. Lovely and clean and well thought out. It was hard to tear her away. We will definitely be back with the grandparents in tow.

The farm is small and clean. Animals seem happy and the food is good. But the staff are sadly incredibly hostile and rude; it must be difficult to employ excellent personnel so rurally, but honestly, when you ask for some cutlery and there’s no response but a sullen look and it’s planted into your hands… you can get better than that, surely? The staff are young and possibly have no real experience but during our hour long trip we overheard three (!!) separate families complaining about the same thing. We ordered food for outside and were told to come and check every so often as to when it was ready so we could collect it… ? This caused chaos in the entry to the farm and was stressful with two babies. Not what you expect when paying food prices the same as in a restaurant. It’s a shame as word gets round and eventually this place will get a name for itself. The food and drink is not cheap and service with a smile and some personality is what makes or breaks a place like this. Management/owners please sort this out before word gets round.

Staff friendly and helpful. Tearoom OK if needing refreshments after visit to small (and very good value)children's farm but not worth going just to visit. Eating area had poor ambience and very crowded in. Food nicely cooked but nothing special. Only one parking space for disabled. Very child friendly as you would expect; very difficult for wheel chairs.
