We've visited Alice Holt many times and every time we go we always come away saying we should go more often. Lovely open spaces with lots of paths, trails and areas to discover for everyone to enjoy. Paths are great for balance bikes/bikes so a great place for kids to get lots of practice. The various play areas are all... More

We were told about this forest by a friend, so early on a Sunday morning we packed up a picnic and the kids. We travelled up from Brighton which took a couple of hours due to the traffic, but this place was well worth the wait. The only money we spent was £6 on parking but what we got in... More

Run by the Forestry Commission, this is a fantastic, wooded area. There are miles of trails and well maintained paths everywhere which are both suitable for walking as well as cycling. Cycles can be hired locally. In addition, there are child play areas where they can climb in and over different wood cabins and other constructions. There are further wooden... More

What a great place to take young children. There are lots of properly sighted walks and a really good centre to add to their knowledge. For the very young there is a safe play area and also cafes. A great place for all the family throughout the year

Lovely place to get outside into the woods. Several well marked trails of varying lengths. Lots of purpose built climbing structures for kids. I would say these are aimed more at 4+ years (compared with moors valley for example our 17month old could not manage/be safe in many of those here). Search out the gruffalo and gruffalo child. Currently no... More

The forest is lovely with some beautiful walks. Plenty of facilities for children of all ages. It is a great place to walk the dogs as well. The trouble is the car parking is very expensive. I appreciate that funds are needed for the upkeep of the forest and it is fine if you are going once in awhile, but... More

Known for the Gruffalo Trail my 2.5yr old had no trouble walking around on well maintained paths along the Easy Access Route which have The Gruffalo's Child, The Gruffalo and The Stickman characters. The excitement in my sons face when they appeared amongst the woods was amazing! The trails are all very well maintained making it safe for all the... More

We were recommended this by friends with children it was a long way from midhurst but we were told it worth it. It could be wonderful. It's a great concept but my complaints are 1. Expensive car park 2. Expensive cafe 3 covered warm area for picnics ONLY if you buy from cafe. Come on it's a cold January day... More

Before leaving home we checked the website looking for directions. After driving an hour to get there it was closed. No one there at the gate to say why or anything just a 'closed' sign. Several other cars were arriving, turning round and driving away. Would have been nice if they had updated the website! Local people who don't drive... More

Really nice change from the look out, lots to do and very well looked after. You can take your bikes or go for a walk but there are always other things on. Would recommend.
