The volunteers here are wonderful, friendly and full of information. The displays are interesting and well displayed. There is an old kitchen and lounge room re creation which was fascinating. The wall of Australian inventions is informative and amazing. Loved the old school room and school readers etc. My husband loved the machinery exhibition and old tractors. There are also handmade... Well curated small museum of the local social and agricultural history with some quirky agricultural machines, well supported with short videos . Good value and well informed local staff.

The 1st place we came to when we drove into Millthorpe from Orange. Don't miss it! and show your children! Lovely touches like local sculptures made from farm parts. There is something for everyone as you wander around the pavilions and displays. You can also buy something made by local crafts people. A big surprise is the Australian invention display... More

It was a cold wet Saturday when we visited with other family members. We were made welcome by the people looking after the place. My grandparents farmed at Millthorpe and there are photographs of my family. Worth a visit

This is a truly amazing museum. So much time has been spent collating and documenting everything, from photos to farm machinery. The museum is special as it has working machinery on display, with touch button technology. As stated here in other comments it is a great credit to the volunteers who are friendly and helpful. Would thoroughly recommend.

The is not your usual museum, it is the best collection of items from the last 100 years or so of Australian country life, including Australian inventions, farm equipment, carriages, furniture, clothing and so much more. A must see when in Millthorpe.

This extensive community museum is a credit to all the volunteers who must contribute to keeping displays looking well organised, well presented and clean. If you're into industrial and domestic memorabilia as I am this is a marvellous treasure trove. Other reviewers have spoken of the joys of revisiting things known from the past - the collections are an excellent... More
