Great way to travel. We booked a cabin to leave our stuff and also shower in private. If you feel a little unwell it's also a great place to hide 👍. The trip both ways was wonderful. Love Tasmania and with the van it makes life so much more interesting. Well worth the money to go across with your caravan

Went to Tasmania from Melbourne on the Spirit of Tasmania. Great way to travel as you can take your vehicle too. Went to Devonport during the day using the day pass. It was good. Fortunately was not sea sick and found the seating on deck 7 very comfortable for a day trip. Food was overpriced and not tasty. Recommend you... More

This was our first trip on the Spirit of Tasmania and it did not disappoint. It is so convenient to be able to take your car, especially when loading up with lots of Tassie food and wine goodies for the return trip home! We had a day sail over and an overnight return trip. Both were great options. The two... More

It is nice and relaxing on the Spirit. There is plenty of choices for food. You can have the buffet for $24 per plate. We didn't realise this at the time. I noticed some people piled their plate right up and even shared the plate!! It's nice to sit back and relax and enjoy a couple of drinks and wander... More

Efficient service, safe for the car, clean cabins if travelling overnight - just don't eat on the boat, too dear

The Spirit of Tasmania is a great option for taking your car on a trip to the Apple Isle. The ferry is well appointed and comfortable. The service including on and off boarding of cars is well managed and the service does not stop there. Onboard bars and restaurant, two cinemas, tourism information they got this so right. Great for... More

I would rather swim to Tassie than use the Spirit of Tasmania again. On boarding on the Melbourne side I was following boarding instructions in my Motorhome when I was waved to a location that caused damage to my vehicle. He apologized after the incident. I had to fill out paperwork on the dock, whilst on holidays had to get... More

Had a great trip on the spirit. Only downfall is don't get there to early to board as there is no where to store luggage. Trip itself was fantastic. Facilities onboard where great. Definitely recommend doing this at least once.

I have traveled quite a few times on "The Spirit" both1&2 . There used to be quite a nice restaurant on board. However, the ships have been refitted and what used to feel decadent has been made flashier, nice enough but not as cosy as it was. The nice bar that was at the stern on deck 7 has been... More
