This was a culinary highlight for me... oysters were fresh, fat and tasted amazing, prepared very well. Mussels were well cooked and stunning with beer. It was a meal stop that we did not want to end and kept on ordering, a bottle of wine, sunshine and you're in heaven. You need to stop here...

I was researching driving from Hobart to Freycinet National Park and came across a recommendation for the Marine Farm. We arrive at 12.30 and it was busy but not too bad. We ordered the trio of fresh oysters, bucket of mussels with chilli and tomato and with lemon, scallops, salmon and the abalone. They were all sweet and delicious and... More

If you enjoy your seafood fresh and at a good price, then this is a must visit. Lunch time can get busy so plan around this. This is a no frills venue, but be aware that it's all about the food. The ladies serving are great, very friendly and attentive. A few suggestions for the owner are: serve chips as... More

A bit touristy as it is close to Freycinet national park just before Coles Bay on the drive in to the national park. Would be good stopover for lunch after a morning's walk. Abalone about $20 per piece sliced up sashimi style, oysters a bit small-larger at Melshell.

This was seafood heaven with a range of prepared and cooked to order seafood that provided both lunch and dinner on several occasions. Very well organised and great that one could enjoy a glass of wine with a meal there.

I had the mussels and my friend the oysters. It's a very busy place but despite the queue our food came quickly so don't be put off if it's busy. Its outdoors dining on wooden tables so don't expect classy. There was some information boards to read while you wait so you learn a bit about seafood farming. They have... More

Stopped in for lunch after spending the morning at Freycinet national park (Wineglass bay). Shared a dozen oysters, prawns and wine. A quaint, informal setting (covered outdoor table settings), but the hero is the freshness of the seafood and the local wines. One of many highlights on our trip to Tassie.

We found this marine farm very interesting Learnt a lot about oysters and mussels, how they are farmed and also the natural surrounds they grow in. The owner (sorry can't remember his name) was friendly and informative, and happy to answer any questions. A very worthwhile trip. To top it off we sampled amazingly fresh oysters and freshly cooked mussels!... More

Having been in Tasmania for a week including 5 days in Hobart we found ourselves at times disappointed by some of the seafood offerings. Too much batter, too much curry powder etc. Freycinet Marine Farm turned that all around with some really tasty and incredibly fresh seafood offerings. We enjoyed the scallops, mussels and garlic prawns. Cant recommend highly enough.
