This is a magnificent place for a hike. It starts along an easy boardwalk and even if you opt not to climb the mountain, stopping at the tarns is worthwhile. They are beautiful and unspoilt. The hike up the mountain needs a certain level of fitness, and be prepared for ALL weather. The view from the top is breathtaking.

After a nice trip driving up the mountain and watching the vegetation change the further we went we pulled into a small car park and took a scenic 20 minute walk to a water fall. It was rainy, windy and misty, but this just added to the beautiful experience. Well worth a visit!

The Hartz Mountain walk 3-4 hours walk return, is a magnificent pristine alpine garden, at present an array of delicate flowers ie Mountain rockets everywhere. The day picnic shelter is the best

Beautiful walks through pretty rugged landscape. Mostly boardwalks. Recommend the 1-1/2h (return trip time) walk to lake Esperance. Stunning views with a nice resting place at the lake. The water in the lake is clear and ready to drink

On a beautiful Christmas Eve we were blessed with warm weather and stunning views from the top. Plenty of places to pause (lakes etc) if you want to linger on a nice day. Strenuous climb to the top but achievable by even little kids with trainers or boots.

We arrived after a pleasant but fairly crowded walk up the road at Tahune Air Walk. The contrast was incredible - we had the place to ourselves and the change in vegetation was mind-blowing. Beautiful flowers everywhere and stunning views. The walk to Lake Esperance was especially enjoyable, with an amazing view to reward you at the end.

This is a great walk, not too strenuous but enough to get the blood pumping. It's a bit of a scramble over a pile of scree towards the end but still an easy walk with great views of Lake Esperence. A return hike should take about three hours and is suitable for a novice hiker. Just make sure you have... More

Love everything about this mountain. It can be a summer beauty with views of waterfalls. Or it can be a winter wonderland depending on the season. Especially beautiful in the snow when u can take the family for a snowfight, Then chill out in the brickhouse with a fire burning and roast marshmallows to warm yourselves back up and ease... More
