Good day trip from Hobart. Drive down the valley would be pretty hairy in wet weather! Heaps of good sized trees and excellent walk trail through the forest with an airwalk to view the canopy. Definitely recommended for pretty much any fitness level.

The lookout tat Arve Falls ws fantastic..easy enough for our family of four to do..the walk was exhilirating! It is a perfect example of the beauty of nature- untouched, pristine and awe inspiring! It will take a while so make sure you got during the cooler months which actually is like saying throughout the year as Tassie is often all... More

This is a wild and beautiful NP. During our visit it rained continually which did effect the walking we planned to do. Tracks are well defined, lots of information is provided and the balance between being a wilderness and people friendly seemed about right. Access is by unsealed road in good condition.

Overnight hike up to Hartz peak and some lovely glacial lakes. Stunning views over Tasmania´s wilderness and numerous mountain ranges.

It's just a Beautiful & Peaceful Mountail to Walk through the Snowy & Cladded Tracks to Crystal Clear Lakes & Water Fall & to the Peek!. Be Prepared for a Long Treck to the Peek, you would be Wise to take some Snacks at least.

A fabulous way to see some of Tasmania's wilderness. There are marshy areas covered in boardwalks that are not hard to traverse... We have taken over 70s up to Lake Esperence (which is the most tranquil lake I have ever visited) and, despite their hip and knee replacements, they made it with only a moderate amount of exertion. The track... More

The national parks in Tasmania are very well maintained despite major cutback they still manage to make them a worthwhile experience for the visitors. We went there the day after I arrived from UK so only did a gentle walk from the parking area to Lake Osborne. We stopped to each our sandwiches sitting on the rocks overlooking the lake.... More

This is one of the most beautiful places I know, it's serene and there is plenty to do from short to long walks and the wildflowers are always a blessing. Not too hard walking it in the snow, I have been there in all seasons and weather and it is always a pleasure - having a lot of boardwalk helps.... More

It had snowed when we got there and we were the first to walk in. Was great to see some footprints from wallabies and even from a wombat! The facilities are very good. The shelter at the start of the walk gave us a place to have our lunch when we got back. A bit of a long drive from... More

Close to Hobart, nice scenery - very Tassie. Easy walking up to HArtz Peak on well graded track. Track is flattish until Ladies Tarn and then is steeper as it climbs to Hartz peak. In nice weather, the views of SW Tassie from the peak are amazing. In less nice weather, it is still a nice climb and views of... More
