    Great experience, highly recommended
We like a good cave and those at Mole Creek are very impressive caves! Did both the King Solomon and Marakoopa cave tours and they are both quite different each with their own interesting features. We had great guides on both tours who were very enthusiastic. Highly recommend you do both tours if you have time in the area.

A must do even if you don’t like confined spaces.
Good fun. The glow worms were amazing as was the cave. Bring a jacket no matter what time of year you go. We only did the Marakoopa Cave and the 12pm tour. We only had 2 other people with us which was nice. I’d suggest this time as the 10am tour was packed. Even if you are claustrophobic you can do this tour.

    Unique experience
Fantastic experience. We did the Marakoopa Glow worm tour and also the King Solomon tour which were both excellent. They do offer a different experience so would recommend both if you have the time. Guides were wonderful on both tours, friendly, informative and allowed plenty of time for photos.

Amazing experience - a must do!
There are 2 caves: king Solomon and Marakoopa. There’s one tour of Solomon caves and 2 different tours of marakoopa - the upper and lower. We did the underground rivers marakoopa cave and the king Solomon cave. I’d recommend both. Both were amazing and both the guides were fantastic and made it really interesting even for my teenagers. The king Solomon cave tour was more about the cave itself and the beautiful structures in the cave and learning about the history of the cave. The maracoopa cave was also beautiful, but was more about the glow worms which were fascinating to see and learn about. I can’t remember the name of our first guide, but I think the second one was Dave and he’d been doing the tour for 20 years and had funny personal anecdotes about his experiences in the caves. The office was also very helpful because our flight to Tassie was delayed so we were going to miss our tour booking time, and they let us delay it by a couple of hours to later that day. Just a note that you can’t take photos in the glow worm section of the cave because it could negatively impact the glow worms.

This was actually very interesting but I downgraded it a bit because of the moral lecture. Fascinating place to spend an hour or so inside and see some incredible sights but I would have liked to know more about the caves themselve rather than the moral lecture about the things we've done wrong and cross referencing to the Aboriginal people.
A maximum of eight people can be taken at a time and some of the turns you have to do are a little tight but it's still worth seeing

We have been to many caves before, but the King Solomon caves still impressed. Fantastic guide, full of enthusiasm and kept the crowd amused. Definitely worth doing even with. I glow worms.

Sadly, I can’t comment on the other caves as they were closed due to flooding when we visited. However, the very friendly Ranger pointed us in the right direction and we are pleased she did. If you can, take the package tour to see both.

We went to Marakoopa Cave as King Solomon was closed. Recommend you book ahead as that is how we found out it was closed and the group that went after us looked quite full.
We did both the tours at Marakoopa we booked them straight after each other. Our tour guide Gayle was fabulous. She was so passionate about the caves and no question was too much. We had two children in our first tour and she was so good with them letting them know of the ‘magical’ things. She was amazing.
We did the underground tour first and went and collected more people for the Cathedral tour and set off straight away. We redid a little bit at the start but Gayle gave us some different information and the cave is so beautiful it did not matter anyway.
If you have knee problems etc the underground tour is the best for you as the Cathedral did have a fair few stairs but if you are somewhat fit you will be perfectly fine it is not hard going.

Worth the drive to see this hidden gem. You may have to wait for a tour as numbers are restricted due covid but we did visit on a Sunday.
Ticket office staff so friendly and informative and then we had Gail as a guide who was more than amazing and so knowledgeable and passionate about her job. Please tell the guides if you have any concerns about going in the cave they will support and inform you and keep checking on welfare.
Safety was number one for them and the showing you an amazing experience.

Fantastic caves to visit. We did 2 of the tours and thoroughly enjoyed both of them. The tour guide we had (apologies I cant remember the name) was great, she was a natural and full of lots of information. The caves themselves are spectacular and just awe inspiring and then to see the glow worms too (there were lots there on our visit) was just magical. Its cool in the caves, constant temperature regardless of whats happening outside, and can be a bit drippy in places, so jumper/jacket a must. Each tour is about 45mins or so minutes long but you dont even notice the time. One of the tours does have a lot of stairs (which you are aware of when doing your booking)

My wife and I visited the caves and enjoyed the two tours we did. Our guide, Ranger Shannon, was friendly and engaging and had plenty of interesting things to tell us about the caves.

Being an older visitor, and with a bit of a bung knee, I was a little unsure how I would go with the hundreds of stairs to be negotiated on the was in and out - but found them to be in good condition and easy enough to traverse.

We failed to book ahead so were not able to visit King Solomons cave at a suitable time that day so will be sure to go back one day to see it as well.

The tour made for an interesting change to walks through the beautiful countryside of Tassie. The caves are well set up and our tour guide was clearly well-informed and passionate about the caves. Great experience for all the family

We really enjoyed our cave tour with Sue. All of the staff were incredibly helpful from booking to tour staff. Easy location to find, and the drive through to the caves was really scenic and picturesque.

The walk to the caves itself was a gentle incline and suitable for all levels of fitness. There are a number of stairs which you walk up in the caves themselves and a moderate level of fitness is probably required as well as the ability to bend and weave through some more narrower areas.

The tour itself was really informative and we loved hearing about how the caves were found and how they have since been protected for generations to come.

A really great experience.

Well worth a trip to the caves! We did the underground rivers and glow worms tour as well as King Solomons Cave tour. The guides were full of knowledge and happy to spend as much time answering questions. We'll definitely be back to do the Cathedral tour we missed.
