Woolnorth Tour (2hrs)

The Tour consists of three main elements. The first is an up-close visit to the cliff top towers of the Woolnorth Wind Farm and information centre. The second is a visit to the historic Woolnorth property homestead and historic precinct, while driving through wonderful dairy lands of the Van Diemen’s Land (VDL) Company. Finally, a visit to the breath taking Cape Grim where we see the wonderful coastline, breathe the cleanest air in the world, and witness all the islands off the NW coast of Tasmania.

A Taste of Tarkine (3+hrs)

These tours operate year round, as well as on weekends. This tour is for those who love nature at it best. The tour involves several of the most beautiful locations that the Tarkine has to offer; including Dip Falls, and the Trowutta Arch. The tour also includes a lovely drive through Circular Head’s rich farmlands and a visit to the Blue Hills Honey Farm.

We went early in May and the weather was blustery with occasional rain squalls. This added to the experience because this is what the locals contend with on many days of the year. It also gave an idea of how tough it would have been for the early shepherds and the women, as well as the indigenous population. North west... More

Booked this tour when we read about it during our stay at the Winged House. I had always wanted to see Cape Grim and the northwest corner of Tasmania and heard this was the only way to get there. Getting to the rendezvous place took around 1.25 hrs from our Table Cape accommodation so we arrived over half an hour... More

If you are headed to the Smithton area jump online and book your a 2 hour tour with Laura at Woolnorth Tours. This lady is a wealth of information not only about the wind and dairy farms but also the history of the area. We had a great couple of hours and highly recommend it.

We can't imagine a better tour guide than Laura. She was knowledgable, humorous and friendly. She obviously loves her job and it shows in the amount of research she must do to stay up to date on the industries that work here and around the world. Such amazing sites and rich history. If you are in the north of Tasmania... More

We traveled from Stanley to the meeting point with our guide Laura for the Wind Farm, Woolnorth and the Grim tour; and the effort was well worth it! It was a great and interesting to experience the "strong" wind in the Wind Farm and to see the windmills in operation... and we were told by Laura that the wind wasn't... More

Our 2+ hour tour gave us insights of this remote region, both from an indigenous and white settlement perspective. Laura was knowledgeable and informative and runs a cracking tour. Well worth doing and we will recommend to other travellers to Tasmania.

My wife and I today went on a 2-hour tour of the wind farms, homestead and Cape Grim under the expert guidance of Laura, one of the most knowledgeable individuals we have spent time with on any tour. Her understanding of the subject matter, her delivery of facts, figures, stories and experiences kept us interested throughout. She has set the... More

The Stanley Information Centre recommended this for a short tour near Stanley. We took her advice and so glad we glad! Laura, the owner, conducted the tour and made us feel very welcome and had extensive knowledge of the areas we visited on the NW tip of Tasmania. This area is not accessible to the public, the only way to... More
