Seating goes in classes Blue cheapest Red. Mid range Gold dearest free snack and hot drink. There is no difference really in the seating you can get up and move about the boat as you please. Lunch was nice but a bit basic for the cost of the boat. Also no drinks were included. (Except one drink with gold seating... More

This is a great day out on board the red cat, cruising the Gordon river. Seniors concession $103 (centre inside seating) which includes a sumptuous cold buffet. I wouldn't bother paying extra for the window seats as you move around at your leisure and there is just as good a view from the centre seats. The Sarah Island excursion was... More

An awesome experience from start to finish. Facilities are top class, backed up by friendly and competent staff. The whole experience had been carefully planned to give participants a comprehensive appreciation of the Macquarie Harbour precinct. Stops along the way at the penal island and environmental walk capped off a wonderful day. The ongoing commentary by the skipper was very... More

Fantastic day trip taking in all that Strahan has to offer - a trip out to Hells Gate past two lighthouses, a look at the sustainable fishing industry in Macquarie Harbour, a highly entertaining guided tour of Sarah Island, a trip down the Gordon River, a walk in the rainforest - and all with morning tea and lunch if you... This was a part of the itinerary suggested to us and looking at what was covered I thought it would be good to include when I was customizing everything according to what we wanted to see. Be prepared as this ship fits a lot of people and you are allocated seats but there's plenty of opportunity to get out and... More

Certainly advise Gold tickets, although next price down only means you have middle seating which by the way you only use as a 'base' during cruise. The skipper actively encouraged wandering the whole vessel, even into wheel house to join him. Skipper gave very knowledgeable commentary on all features of Macquarie harbour, Hells Gate ( which you sail through), salmon... More

The 'Harbour Master' cruise boat is less than one year old and is an excellent purpose-built vessel with comfortable seating, weather protection and plenty of options for finding a good vantage point to view the fabulous scenery. There is a good cafe/bar inside. The commentary is clear and very informative covering a diverse scope of relevant matters, including the location,... More

Call me crazy but when I bought a Gordon River cruise, I expected to cruise the Gordon River. However, over the course of our 4 1/2 hour cruise, we spent 1/2 hour on the Gordon River and 4 hours not on the Gordon River. Most of our time was spent visiting the Sarah Island convict station, looking at a fish... More
