The gardens are beautifully maintained and the cottage and surrounding dwellings and shedding are accurately represented for the era. There are a number of animals to engage the children. We managed to tour the Island within an hour and therefore did not stay for the tractor ride, sheep shearing or dog show. The café offers a variety of food and... More

Oh my god those shaggy cows ! Churchil Island is a pioneer settlement. Very informativd and very interesting with demonstrations such as shearing, cattle dogs a ship cracking. A great place to go for history and a look around. There is a lot of animals to look at close up. You need at least 2 hours here on this picturesque... More

This island has a heritage farm. It is good for kids to get a feel of life on the farm. They have many activities and demonstrations there like milking a cow, sheep sheering, cracking a whip and see a working dog or a shepherd dog control the sheep. Its interesting experience for the kids. You could carry a picnic and... More

We went with 4 young children who loved the experience - great for them to be able to run around safely. Farm experiences were good but rather difficult to see so it would be good to have more scheduled times during holiday season- activities are mainly in afternoon and don't run for very long. Great café but queues can be... More

Not to sound too harsh, however the shows are a reasonably basic and are possible targeted to the overseas tourist that has low expectations. For example the sheep dog show where the sheep were not scared of the sheep dog thus would not move. The cow milking allowed a person two squirts of the udder, sheep show was very stinky... More

I love Churchill Island for a walk with gorgeous views. The cafe was lovely today - great coffee and amazing scones with jam and cream. Mindy in the cafe was delightful!

Have visited Churchill island on several occasions, mainly to visit George the cockatoo! He stole our heart on our first visit, and we've gone back to see him a few times since! The island is great for children with a variety of farm animals, peacocks freely strolling around, beautiful gardens and a great cafe. We thoroughly enjoy every visit!
