The Sherman House Museum in Lancaster, Ohio is the birthplace of General William Tecumseh Sherman and his younger brother U.S. Senator John Sherman. This 1811 home features an outstanding Civil War exhibit and Sherman family treasures. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Civil War Preservation Trail and has been a memorial to the family since 1951. The museum gift shop features Civil War and local history books as well as puzzles, games and more.

Really enjoyed our visit. had to park along the street.Loved the collection of guns & swords. Had a very informative tour guide. our tour was over an hour long, if your a civil war buff its a must see stop,

This is a good place to visit if you want to know a little bit more about Lancaster, Ohio or General Sherman. There are some Ewing family connections. It is worth a visit but not for the kids or young teenagers.

This is a nice tour of where John and William Tecumseh Sherman were born and raised. Guide did a good job with family history and some good artifacts are located. That said, 90% of the house and tour is about William. Would be nice to...More

Most interesting, and eye opening to Sherman's life. We are from the south,lol, so not the most favorable General. We enjoyed our visit quite well.
