A True Must See
Sep. 2021
Out of all the hikes we did in Hocking Hills this was our favorite. The scenery looked like something out of the movie Pandora, the rock house is a pretty cool cave that you can walk through and enjoy the amazing creation of water and time. We took our 7, 8, and 10 year old daughters. they did really well. The cliffs are very steep so you must pay attention to them and where you are walking.

My favorite trail in Hocking Hills!
Aug. 2021
The Rock House is amazing!! I have said this in my other reviews of the HH parks, I LOVE the one-way trail systems. Easy walk to the cave, the uphill walk back can be tiresome but there are a couple benches along the way to stop and take a break if needed. I would recommend parking at the lot closest to the road, that is where the trail ends. After hiking back up the hill it is nice to be close to the car, lol. I would recommend wearing good shoes and taking a small flashlight. It is very slippery inside the cave and it can be hard to see all of your footing once inside. We went on a late Saturday morning, was not terribly crowded.

Walking this trail on our first day hiking. Real nice rock walls to walk through. Will not be disappointed.

MUST SEE!!!

My favorite trail in Hocking Hills! Absolutely beautiful and a must see on a trip to the area. Go early to avoid the crowds, but watch out for the pigeons in the cave! 🐦

AMAZING!!
Aug. 2021
The Rock House was unbelievable. The way the cave has been carved out over time and the massive size of it is unreal! You can walk inside it from one end to the other. A definite must see!

Bring a flashlight
Jul. 2021 • Family
We went today and the weather was perfect with a bit of an overcast. We couldn't see very well in the cave so bring a flashlight or your phone. It is gorgeous.

Super unique rock formation, ok trail
Jul. 2021
So this park contains Rock House which is a rock formation you can walk into. Bring your phone with a flashlight to see once you're inside. It's neat to see once, but we probably wouldn't visit every year. Trail to Rock House is nice if uneventful. Trail back from Rock House is almost exclusively uphill, so be prepared for that, and it's a long uphill with a couple of uphill switchbacks. Total hike time under probably 30 minutes + whatever time at the House.

A Real Cave
Jun. 2021
The Rock House hike was very enjoyable.

The hike took us about an hour. We were not in a rush and stopped several times to enjoy the scenery. The Rock House is really a cave and a cool sight to see.

The facilities here a more primitive than the beautiful Visitor's Center at Old Man's Cave. It's a little more off the beaten path than Old Man's Cave, and on the day we visited both, the crowds were smaller at Rock House.

So if you'd like to take a laid-back hike to see a cave and other beautiful scenery, I highly recommend Rock House.

Extraordinary Sculpted Stone
Mar. 2021
This hike was a bit more difficult than anticipated...merely due to wet leaves and lots of stone steps and walkways. It was rather crowded, even when other area trails were not so I am assuming it is very popular. A good hike but not one of the favorites in this area.

"Rocking At The Rock House"
Jun. 2021
Rocking at the Rock House is an amazing geological artifact of our country. Hocking Hills and the trails are my first and loved it so much I cannot wait to return. Not one of the longest or hardest trails but worth the hike for amazing beauty and sights along the way. Window views for great photo opportunities from inside the cave. Lots to discover. Who knew this magnificent wonder was in southern Ohio? Felt like another world.

Recommend going early as it gets crowded. If you can venture during the week even better.
