It's too bad the staff is inflexible when it comes to booking. We tried to make a same-day reservation in July, 2020, during coronavirus days, but they wouldn't allow groups to be combined so we couldn't take a tour. There were just two people on the tour that we wanted to join, and there were just two of us, but because we didn't know each other, we couldn't be on the same tour. We had our masks, we were ready, but try as we might, they wouldn't let us in. What a supreme disappointment. It's almost like they didn't want visitors.

Very interesting place to visit. The staff is exceptional and they put on a variety of very interesting events throughout the year. Including great food/history.

We stopped at the Castle for the last tour of the day, and found out that they were celebrating the retirement of one of their guides. Anne, meeting you was truly a delight! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed having Jaye as a tour guide. We missed the beginning of the tour, but she was gracious enough to take us back to show us what we missed. It was a lovely tour - we did learn the reason why it’s called the Castle, but I’ll let y’all find out for yourselves.
