We had a great experience doing the canopy tour! Justin and Chad were excellent guides, and I felt very safe the entire time. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone vacationing in or traveling to the area - it's a great way to see the beauty of Hocking Hills from a very different vantage point!

Concerning COVID-19, I thought the protocols for staff and visitors on the ground were great and I appreciated the smaller group size. I wish that we would have been required to wear masks on the platform as we were stuck in a group with a couple who didn't even try to respect our personal space and weren't masked. The instructors were very good with safety, however, and I would still recommend the experience!

So much fun!! Our tour guides Nate and Chad were so much fun and made the experience amazing! We did the “X-tour” which took about 2 hours including putting on gear and taking it off. Both guides made us feel very safe and comfortable the whole time despite one of them only having one week of experience as a guide. About 50% is shaded but we still recommend sunscreen! Great for beginners too! Highly recommend!

I overall had a good experience zip lining for the first time. We were super lucky to get the night zip (highly recommend) it seemed like a good idea, and it was.

They tell you to arrive 30 minutes prior to your zip we arrived at 8:00 pm because our reservation was at 8:30 pm - not my favorite part .

They should tell you to arrive around 10:00 pm the guides wait until it’s very dark out , since you want to get the whole experience , if that’s the case you should arrive at 10:00 pm we ended up waiting and they did not have anything for us really to do.

They have a bag game set up and a couple of picnic tables but it would have been cool if they set up a drink station for after or snacks in bags (quarantine) more large yard games.

Bring bug spray my husband got bitten by a ton of mosquitoes while we waited.

My other concern is for me I never zip lined before. The line you practice is not at all accurate to the teach you how to stop at the actual speed you will be going. It’s a very basic quick learn and you do it once not even enough times to get comfortable.

The best thing I could recommend is the time you spend waiting they have you run on a real line to get the feel for it and practice for real stopping.

You do get three warm up runs but it’s not where you should be practicing the stopping. You also get 4 runs at night so a total of 7 vs the 11 in a day run.

I also understand it was in the dark so we couldn’t grab pictures of the experience but they should work on that as well - we paid $100.00 a person.

The night zip is breathtaking , and it is worth it but it’s not a “VIP experience” they could flood the trees with glow sticks or paint the trees with neon glows so your eyes don’t trip out but still has more of an experience vs the little glow straps on your helmet.
Super intense ! Beautiful views of the moon and stars and fireflies.

Pretty big drops , and it goes very fast. I learned the hard way. Our guides Claire and Ronnie were awesome and so was the group we went with. I would zip with them any day of the week. Such sweet people.

It was a good experience minus a couple of things I would go again.

My family visited Hocking Hills canopy tours and it was the best experience ever. We have done many ropes and zip line courses throughout the years and this was without a doubt the best course, customer service , and tour guides we have ever encountered. My eleven year old son and I did the x-tour and it did not disappoint. Not only were the zip lines awesome but our tour guides Nate, Chad, and Adrien were incredible. Nate even took pictures of us throughout the tour and emailed them to us afterward. My son and I also did the super zip which is just $20 more if purchased in addition to the x or canopy tour. It’s definitely worth it as you travel Superman style across 1500 feet of zip line at speeds up to 50 mph. This place doesn’t leave smaller kids out either. Although children must be 70 lbs to ride the canopy and/or x-tour zip lines, the dragon fly is no slouch. The zip lines span from 9 to 24 feet and both our 8 year old and petite 11 year old found the course enjoyable yet challenging. If you visit Hocking Hills, you should definitely add this place to your itinerary. We will definitely return when we visit next year.

I called on a Tuesday to make reservations for 2 Dragonfly tickets for the coming weekend; knowing it was likely going to be busy (Easter/spring break weekend). I was told reservations weren't needed. You could just come in any time from 11-5.
We showed up that weekend and was asked for our reservation information. When I told them that I called several days prior and was told no reservations were needed, they said, "Yeah, we're really busy now. So now you need one." Or we could wait two hours for a time slot; which was not an option because we had to have rentals returned by then.

Perhaps you shouldn't misguide people... always take a reservations from someone who calls days ahead regardless of "normal" practice.

*** All of the people standing there getting to take their kids ziplining that day all obviously inquired AFTER us!

From the very minute Cheyenne & Kristen introduced themselves to us, the anxiety my 3 granddaughters exhibited went away. Those two were professional guides and their confidence, patience and positive attitudes relaxed us and the two other people on our tour. Those two quickly said they were worried about zipping because they were afraid of heights. C’s & K’s knowledge base and concern for safety put all of us at ease and their easy going pace quickly brought about a fun and exciting experience for everyone.

I have brought each of my three grand daughters to HHCT as a present for their 11th birthday. This year the 11 year old asked if she could bring her two older sisters. I quickly agreed and we made plans to go zipping today. What a surprise when I found how much they enjoyed themselves because, I believe, of the way they were treated by Cheyenne and Kristen. To see two leaders take charge and enjoy themselves in the process was an added bonus to this adventure. When the zipping ended all 3 of them told me the couldn’t wait to do it again next year.

As for the other two very apprehensive guests in our group, Cheyenne & Kristen quickly put them at ease. Very tentative at first, I heard nothing about their fear of being in the trees after the first zip. By the smiles on their faces and with the attention of our guides, when we started second zip line, the two seemed completely relaxed and enjoying themselves. They joined us in shouting as C & K encouraged us to do as we flew thru the trees, even tried turning as they flew down the line, eventually sped along by canon balling and safely hit the brakes at the end of each line like they were seasoned pros.

The tour guides make the zip line tour, there is no doubt in my mind. This my 4th time @ HHCT and all of the guides have been good, but the two we had today, Cheyenne and Kristen, were the best ever. If you’re planning to zip I would recommend asking for Cheyenne & Kristen to lead your tour. You wont be disappointed!

We took the Segway Tour and had a fantastic time. It’s so easy to learn to ride a Segway and they are the most fun ever! This Hocking Hills Canopy Segway Tour was especially memorable because it went off road. We went through unspoiled, lush forests, up and down meadow hills, and by beautiful ponds with fish and turtles. We rode by the clear Hocking River for awhile. Soon we came upon a hidden cave and got to stop and look at it. It was beautiful and even had a tiny waterfall. Preston, our guide, was just excellent. He was friendly, informative and just fun to be around. He made sure everyone was comfortable with the Segway and was able to ride it enjoyable way. He pointed out expansive hilltops views and points of interest along our ride. We enjoyed seeing butterflies, humming birds and interesting native Ohio plants, flowers and trees. Riding the Segway up and down hills, around curves and through valleys was exciting. This was our favorite Hocking Hills activity and we can’t wait to go on a Segway ride with Preston again soon! Canopy Tours has a package deal so we added a fast paced, thrilling Super zip ride after the Segway tour to end the day with a big adrenaline rush!

We visited in July 2020 (during the Coronavirus pandemic). We were cautious travelers/visitors and were nervous about doing popular activities. We appreciated their limit on the number of people allowed in the check-in area at one time. We only participated in the children's Dragonfly zipline. The walk to that area was easy to keep socially distant. The employee who outfitted our child (outside) was wearing a mask (and gloves I think). The course ensured the kids were socially distant while doing it. We were please and felt it was fairly low risk. And our 7 year old loved it...

It was a nice, summer afternoon, so I decided to take my kids to the Dragonfly course at Hocking Hills Canopy Tours. They had a blast! We made the long drive to Rockbridge from Columbus, so I purchased 4 trips through the course to make it worth our while. If there aren't many other children there, you make it through the course quickly, so I suggest that you purchase the maximum number of trips through the course, too. The tour guides let me purchase a few extra trips through for my kids at $5 a piece and it was worth the extra money.

The tour guides were AMAZING, btw. Chey and Claire were extremely patient with my children and made the experience so much fun! One little girl was terrified to go across her first zipline, so Claire climbed up on the platform and went across the line with her. If you're worried that your children might be frightened, rest assured that the tour guides make sure the experience is a positive one. I absolutely cannot wait to rebook a trip for my kids!

We did the original canopy tour and our guides, Kyle and Kelsey, were fabulous. They were fun and knowledgeable and did their best to make sure everyone in our group felt safe and had a good time. The zip lining was terrific and the nature around us was beautiful. We even saw a mother and baby deer on our tour. We visited during Covid-19 and the office staff and tour guides did a wonderful job of wearing masks, social distancing, and making sure all guidelines were followed. We felt very safe patronizing this business. It is also great that they take pictures for you on the tour and email them to you free. We will be back!
