Want to do something different with the kids? GO to Fossil Park! What kid doesnt like digging in dirt? We found tons of fossil pieces, be prepared to dig deep and overturn rocks and take your own bucket and brushes. After you get done digging, take the trail on a fun hike to the park. We cant wait to go... More

I have never been here before and decided to go at the last minuet. There was nobody here when we came because the rain was rolling in. We got about 15 minuets of digging until the sky opened up on us. We managed to find some really cool fossils for our very short time there. We will be back for... More

Have a family with younger kids? Want to find an activity that doesn't have a screen that keeps them outside and busy? This is perfect place for you! There is a large area that was formerly part of a stone quarry. You can now dig around in rocks that were excavated from said quarry to find fossils. No kids and... More

Yes you were able to find fossils but you could not use tools to find them . They have a sign posted and that's one of the rules that you can use chisels hammers or any sort of tool. Recommended as a family activity

Plan a full 3-6 hours to be spent here. Digging for fossils is one of the most enjoyable things and you just get so caught up in it that before you know it, you've been there for 4 hours. This has rare 375 million year old fossils from the Middle Devonian era. I don't recommend this if you don't like... More

We just happen to come across this park on the web, during our trip to Toledo. We thought we would give it a try. What a great time we had. The park has running water bathrooms, that were clean as was the rest of the park. It a fun activity for the whole family. Best part....its FREE.

I looked online for excursions on our way home from Ohio and found this place. We had kids from age 4 to 12 and they all enjoyed it. You are not allowed to bring tools so we brought paintbrushes to use to dust them off. We were here for a couple hours and the kids each found a few fossils.... More

What a great, simple, rustic form of entertainment. We found fossils every time we went and there is an ice cream shop across the way to complete a fun afternoon. Bring a hat or sunscreen there is not much shade.

I am a fossil enthusiast and had researched fossil areas within Ohio. There were great articles about Fossil Park and great reviews (although dated) so I decided to plan a mini vacation and drive down there. It was quite a trip and when I got there I have to say I was incredibly disappointed. It's a tiny kids park with... More

Great place for kids and adults! It's not a fancy place... You may or may not find fossils , however it will keep kids interested while searching. They will get dirty so keep that in mind! Buckets for water are recommended. There is acses for stollers and a place to seat. We visited today for the first time and had... More
