Founder and first president Edward Drummond Libbey wanted to build a place where art was accessible to everyone, hence the museum's free admission policy, which continues to this day. Hours of roaming the halls of exquisite pieces of art. Very impressive museum, huge for a city the size of Toledo. Easy to get to. Outdoor parking.

Toledo boasts one of the best Museums in the country. The Glass Museum is awesome, as is the permanent collection. I'm lucky, because I live here and can visit anytime.

TMA has an amazing array of art, from old to new, from famous exhibitions to local artists on display. The Peristyle is a wonderful venue to watch the Toledo Symphony, or see an author book signing. TMA is in a constant state of expansion and betterment, but not to the determent of what they are now, today. Worth traveling for.... More

My husband and I stop in each year for a visit at the Toledo Museum of Art. We love this museum. This time, the exhibit was of the Libbey [Doucet] Dolls, which was very cool. I do wish that all of the dolls had been individually exhibited rather than having the majority of them grouped en masse. But we still... More

One of my favorite places to get lost in. This visit was to see the Libbey Dolls: Fashioning the Story in Gallery 18. We spent quite some time looking at all of the articles on the wall, the 78 dolls and their clothing. We are so lucky to have the Libbey family in Toledo to give us such a wonderful... More

I was blown away - this lovely little Shinkelsque neoclasscial museum was such a great surprise! The collection is world class - Rembrandt, Matisse, Degas, Albers, Calder - etc. The museum is small, but well curated and very very elegant. The nearby glass pavillion was designed by 2010's Pritzker Prize winners and is equally elegant and rich. Go out of... More
