I ended up not getting there until after 3:30, so I had to take a self guided tour. The booklet that you can get in the gift shop on the lower floor is really well done. You start not he top floor of the state house and work your way down. The book was wonderful. It talked about the history... More

It is a beautiful capitol building. Easy to get to and easy to park at for free. If I had time, I would have visited the inside but it was very interesting walking around the front grounds of the building nevertheless. Next time I'll go inside!

Very nice Greco-Roman architecture. From the 4th floor rotunda, you get a great view of the Capitol's 22 million dollar dome. Love the marble floors, art and paintings seen throughout the building.

This is a beautiful building. There is a great book to help with a self-guided tour of the five floors. The hours are later, so it is possible to see it in the evening, too.

I'm a State Capitol fan, always visit if I'm in Capitol city of any state. This one is gorgeous, well worth the stop. And explore the grounds.

Finally made the trip to the Capitol building. Took the free tour and our guide was very personable and knowledgeable. They have an excellent collection of art here that is open to the public. Wish I had more time to explore.

We visited on a Sunday before heading home. The building had almost no one in it. It was so neat that we could walk all around, wonder through halls and exhibits. My kids (elementary and middle school age) had a great time and were in amazement. It was neat to be able to spend time looking around the architecture as... More

I was excited to visit the Capitol but when I arrived there was a religious meeting going on right in front of the Capitol building. They were screaming about abortion and prayer in school. I was only able to take one really quick picture because that atmosphere was crazy and loud. Parking is free from what I could see and... More
