Although very busy when we were there it didn't attract from the splendour of the falls and the surrounding countryside and views. It's a lovely drive up to the falls from Portland along the Columbia river. Parking is precious so beware..a drive on to Vista...More

The falls are absolutely stunning. We were there just days before the wildfires. Absolutely a must for any trips to the Columbia gorge area. Enjoy while still available.

I have been to Niagara Falls and although this waterfall is not as powerful, it is at least equally beautiful. It is 2 tiered and there is a walk way bridge in the middle. You can hike up to the top which is a nice...More

I have travelled the world and never seen a more picturesque waterfall. We were on a tour and had less than two hours at the site which was not enough to climb to the very top, but were able to take a hike up the...More

Depending on what measurement method you use, Multnomah is the second highest, or the 24th or even only the 156th highest waterfall in the US. It doesn't matter though - it's the highest falls in the Columbia River gorge, and it flows year round. There...More

August 23, 2017 - Multnomah Falls was the fifth waterfall we saw today and it was awesome. We could see the Falls from the parking lot, then we walked under the expressway, along the water at the very bottom, adjacent to the refreshment stands. We...More

This place is awesome! We did the Multnomah Falls / Wahkeena Fall loop hike. It took as a few hours but was totally worth it. We got to see about 3-4 falls in total and some amazing views. Wear sturdy foot wear as there are...More

We had already gone hiking and I was so tired. But we started the hard climb to the top. At the top there is a little lookout and a small creek that leads to the top of the falls as well as a small falls...More

Absolutely gorgeous view! If possible, go for a short hike and walk all the way to the top. It can be a little exhausting but is absolutely worth it!

The most amazing waterfall I ever seen! We went hiking for more than 3 hours, moderate hiking. Between a landscape come from Jurassic Parc And waterfall, I will do it again. Dog friendly. Parking too small.

Good question. I, too, wondered about the Gorge and Multnomah Falls. I drove there Saturday, 10/7/17. Though you could see the falls, you can't even drive into the visitor parking area. They're now afraid of falling... More

Hi _ I believe the Falls are always open. It is a short drive east of Portland and it is next to a major road. You can call the lodge next to the falls.
