Awesome location

We came here to take pictures and we loved it. It's literally a place where the Goonies was taped. Very cool to be there and take some pictures.

The Oregon coast is rocky and rugged, and Haystack Rock is the focal point for Cannon Beach. A nice walk on the beach takes you to the rock at low tide where you can see tufted puffins and murres flying around the rock. A nice take for sure!

Love this area of the Oregon Coast. We walked to Haystack Rock when tide was out. Viewed a wonderful close up look at the rock and it's sea life surroundings!

Talking to the locals, found out it's the 3rd largest granite monoliths along the coast in the US. I can't prove that. There are several parking lots around and it's just a quick walk down the beach

Definitely worth a stop and a few photos. We saw it during breaks in the rain and it was still beautiful. The crashing surf and swirling seagulls made it picturesque.

Iconic view of Oregon Coast, best appreciated as the sun hit horizon. The beach is huge, so if you want to get that perfect sunset shot, get here in time to scope out the best position (with the sun behind the rock). Very nice way to see the day fade into the ocean on Oregon Coast.

When in Cannon Beach, walk the long beautiful beach when the tide is out and walk up to Haystack Rock if you can. You will see many nesting birds up high on the rock, watch them in action, dig for shells around the rock and if you are there on a Sunday morning there will be a tour guide out... More

Great place to take the kids for a day at the beach. Plenty of restaurants and shopping within walking distance. The views are phenomenal and sealing is abundant.

A wonderful walk along a near empty beach to a huge monolith and it's "needles". Birds abound at this "rock" and all the tide pool activity at low tide makes for a fascinating stop on your walk-yes you can get up close to it. Each of the mornings we visited there were members from an environmental group there there and... More
