We wanted to try our hand at crabbing for the first time and chose Charleston. What a great decision. We had a great time, learned a lot and the facility is nice. Restrooms, cleaning stations, etc... and we even bought a fresh tuna from a fisherman who had just returned from fishing. Will go again!

My husband and I took the kids down to the marina, stopped in the store on the Marina and got pointers as to which crabs we could keep after catching. We learned a lot from them and they were very helpful to us. We had the equipment handy because the house we rented had provided them to us. We also... More

We always crab on these docks. Never meet a bad person everyone is so friendly and helpful. We have crabbed on all the docks and we have couth crabs. When the fishing boots come in they are vary nice and let we take your pots out before they come in.

Ok. You come to the ocean to feel the experience. This is the place. Boats coming and going all the time. Fishermen pulling their loads off their boats, tourists watching on. People pulling crab traps off the docks. Want fresh fist - go to the Fisherman's Wharf. Super friendly people ready to talk and sell you the freshest seafood around.... More

We had a great time crabbing off of dock D. You can rent crab rings at Davey Jones Locker for $4 for the day. Bait can be bought there too. Everyone down there was so nice and we were all crabbing. Great family fun! We caught a couple keeper Dungeness and red rock crab. Kids caught jellyfish off the dock.... More

If you have an afternoon to burn and are in the area, stop by one of the local bait/tackle shops(I recommend Basin), and pick up a license, rent some gear, and buy some bait. Then walk on down to the docks and have yourself a good old fashioned crab pot afternoon! That's just what we did and it was a... More
