If you enjoy hikes, scenery and quiet areas, I highly recommend this stop. We came with our dog and they allow off leash of your dog is able to recall. There’s a lake and picnic areas. It’s beautiful.

Just visited Peavy Arboretum today. Had an excellent experience. I arrived early at 9am on a weekday, when there were few other visitors. Did the forest experience loop, and several short hikes through the area. Then I spotted the Section 36 loop trail and decided to go for a longer hike to the top of a small hill named Peavy Peak. The top of the hill is at 1200ft elevation, which means you're going to climb. The lovely vistas along the way up and down, as well as the supremely peaceful bench waiting for you at the top, make this more arduous hike very much worth it!

We are not big on nature walks, but we sure enjoyed the quiet of the forest and pond for a 20 minute break from driving.

Peavy has lots of trails ranging from a few 100 feet to miles, lots of natural areas and some marked plant species. Nice for a short visit

Best trails for running and hiking. All levels of outdoor enthusiasts (parents with toddlers in tow to retired folks) will find a trail to explore nature.

This area has many trails for walking and a pond also. There are plenty of parking areas and you need to keep in mind where you parked. They do have brochures you can pick up to show the different trails. It is a relaxing area to enjoy the natural area.

The Arboretum has gone down hill a bit from its heyday in the 90’s when there was much more attention to maintenance. Still a good stop to take the family. The Forestry Club Cabin and Cronemiller Lake are fun destinations.

Set a bit north of Corvallis, Peavy Arboretum is a stunning place to mountain bike, trail run, stroll along with your kids to a stocked lake, amble and birdwatch. Lots of parking and some old and lovely forestry buildings that one can rent for special occasions. There are forestry roads to walk and single-track to run and bike. A perfect place for a peaceful sojourn.

We had some time to spare near Albany and decided to go here for the afternoon. When we got there there is a place where they had free maps, beware that it is very confusing. Do not make the mistake of walking past the gate and waking up this long road to no where. The trails are behind you. When we finally figured that out then we enjoyed the stroll through the trees. Also, please note that the parking lot is small so not good for RVs to park there. We have a camper van and right when we were packing things up, we were approached by security and they "barked" at us and told us there was no overnight camping. Talk about rude!! And he said you better not be here when I come back. That left a really sour taste in my mouth.

Yes, dogs are allowed. The area is home to a variety of hiking biking and horse trails so be on alert if your dog does not behave well around large animals.
