- JMcPortland, Oregon42 contributionsFrom cellar to patio to vino in your glass, Archery Summit provides an abundance of beautyThis beautiful winery recently completed an expansion of their tasting area. On a beautiful summer day, I can only imagine how magical it would be to sit out on the patio or in the light-filled reception area and sip wine. Given the gloomy weather on the day we visited, we were happily ensconced in the wine cellar. If you are thinking about visiting this winery, you are likely aware how wonderful their wines are. Rest assured, the wonder extends to a courteous and informed staff who provide guests with insight into the various terroirs that are home to the grapes.Visited February 2024Travelled with friendsWritten March 20, 2024
- Erin F13 contributionsShout out to NickBest winery of the day and only winery we purchased from. I don’t purchase wine as I’m a general manager at a winery and have access to the best of the best. Excellent service from Nick and beautiful surroundings. Add it to the top of list.Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten April 6, 2024
- Companion624616387175 contributionsBest winery in the areaI came here for my 21st birthday and when I say the whole place is amazing. There is a cave area or a patio style area to choose from. We chose the patio as it had amazing views of mount hood and the vineyard. We loved the wine and the staff so much my parents ended up joining the wine club and when I tell you the wine does not disappoint it will exceed your expectations. The girl that did our tasting was also wonderful and I loved how she went over in detail all the different aspects of each wine. We went to some other winery’s in the area that day as well and I can say without a doubt the energy of this winery topped off with the quality of wine/service you get is unmatched. I want to go back again like this weekend lol!Visited June 2024Travelled with friendsWritten June 15, 2024
- TOURtheWORLDMexPalUnited States3,600 contributionsI fell in love with this winery, I became a memberI highly recommend to do the winery tour and see the caves, and hear about the history, and nit just wine tasting. Also, the cheese plate is excellent. The wine we tried with my comments: Chardonnay Dundee hills estate 2021 …. 89p (very good, not Oaked) I liked it but not to seek it Pinot 2022 renegade ridge vineyards… 87p (not impressed at all) Pinot 2022 Archer’s edge vineyards ….. 92p (yes a favorite. Would like to try 2021 vintage, which I purchased the last bottle in this winery’s inventory} Pinot 2021 red hills vineyards …. 93p (well structured, minerals and rose petal and orange zest) Cellar Selection: Pinot 2021 Archer’s Paradox …. 91p (100% stems/ cluster) different , very spicy, minerals and smells the stems. Not a favorite. Pinot 2021 Arcus vineyards….93p (very good, although Archer’s edge is my favorite)Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten July 3, 2024
- Stephen S30 contributionsConsistently top notch service AND Oregon Pinot’s and moreI’ve been a member for years and the consistency of excellence and continuous improvement as they raise the bar year after year is the hallmark of Archery Summit. I can’t say enough good things. I take friends and family and send people when I can’t go…I trust them with my business colleagues, clients and even random travelers I’ve met through the years. The wine and exceptional service speaks for itself. And the views and the caves and…like I said, it all speaks for itself.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten September 10, 2024
- Ken R1 contributionLoved the New Tasting Facility and ExperienceWe are Apex members of Archery and visit the winery every summer. This year we had a chance to experience the new tasting facility and patio. It was delightful. Beautiful weather and a fantastic view; friendly and professional tasting guide and a delish charcuterie plate. After the tasting we decided to scrub our original lunch plans and grabbed gourmet pizzas at the partner truck. Archery was happy to set up a table for us on the patio, with water, place settings and a bottle of Renegade Ridge that we ordered on the spot. An outstanding visit as usual and the kind of experience that keeps us coming back every summer from Texas. Highly recommend to all wine lovers, especially those that appreciate high end Pinots.Visited July 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten September 11, 2024
- Charley W5 contributionsLast Minute TastingOur trip was a chance visit on way to Portland Airport. Last tasting of the day on Saturday. Never felt rushed and received full treatment from Grayson Cosier. Enjoyed moving through the Pinots and purchased a case through email upon our return. Grayson provided an excellent description and was spot-on with answers to our questions. Glad we took the time as we received real value in return. On a recent trip to the Willamette Valley for wine tasting, Archery Summit was our final stop on a long day of tastings, and we came very close to canceling the appointment because we were getting a bit tired of wine. However, I’m really glad we still decided to stop at Archery Summit, because it was a wonderful experience and featured some of the best wine we tried throughout our trip to the area.
We were very impressed when we entered the building and were immediately escorted through Archery Summit’s underground wine caves built into a hill, which are definitely a unique feature among wineries in the Willamette Valley. After walking through the caves, we were taken to our table that was in the tank room, which was also a fun setting for a wine tasting. Just the whole setup of it made us engaged and interested from the start.
From there, the tasting proceeded very nicely, and I was happy to see that the standard tasting was all pinot noirs. I know wineries like to mix in other things, usually starting with a throwaway chardonnay. However, since everyone is really there for the pinot noirs in the Willamette Valley, it was nice to focus on those for the whole tasting. All of the pinots we tried were quite good and high end, but the ones that stood out to us were the Shea Vineyard pinot noir and the Summit Vineyard pinot noir, which we made sure to take home.
Throughout the tasting, in addition to the wines just being great, our host definitely contributed to making it such a positive experience. He was very friendly the entire time, and clearly just loves showcasing the Archery Summit portfolio of wines and telling guests more about them. I felt like we got a really great introduction to Archery Summit wines and the Willamette Valley itself. He also gave us an extra pour of pinot gris at the end, which was a really nice palate cleanser, which I much preferred having at the end of the tasting, rather than the beginning.
I only have very positive things to say about the tasting experience at Archery Summit. Having already been to multiple other wineries that day before reaching Archery Summit, our tastebuds were a little shot by the time we arrived, but the winery’s excellent pinot noirs still managed to stand out and impress us. The wines are pricey, but there is great quality behind it, which makes the cost well worth it. Our host also just provided such great, friendly service throughout the experience, which made us so glad to have stopped here. Archery Summit would definitely be at the top of our list for our next trip to the area.

We loved our visit to Archery Summit. The "cave" wine tasting venue was spectacular, even though the staff kept apologizing for being "under construction". Our host was Grayson Crosier, who was very courteous, knowledgeable and engaging. The wine was excellent and we left with a few bottles.

Thank you for your kind words. We are looking forward to completing our construction project soon and showing off our new Tasting House. Come visit us in the future to see what we have been working on all year.

This place is the perfect triple threat for local wineries. Archery Summit has stellar wines, a unique one of a kind atmosphere, and staff display outstanding kindness. This place is worth being a member at! 10/10 recommend to anyone who is looking for unforgettable wine tasting experience.

Archery Summit produces excellent pinot noirs and a fine chardonnay. The tasting room staff are knowledgeable and helpful. So far so good - but the tasting pricing and policy are over the top. The tasting fee is $50, high by Willamette Valley standards, and IS NOT waived with a wine purchase. And that fact is not advertised up front. This is a significant miscue on management's part and unlike their excellent wines, leaves a sour taste in one's mouth.

Tasting experience was top notch (once the very loud group next to us left). Our “hostess” was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Tasting in the caves was fun (and a welcome break from the heat) but the downside is the echo so, depending on how loud you adjacent groups are, it can be hard to hear!!!! I suggest shooting them dirty looks so they leave. Our hostess knew how annoyed we were so she slowed down our tasting and hurried them up (they were pretty well done) so we finally got some peace and quiet!!!
We joined the wine club so we’ll be able to enjoy for many years! Cheers

Have been coming to this winery since its opening and its innovative techniques with winemaking. The wine cave and vineyard tours are great and the winemaker is amazing!.. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and patient with questions and sharing their expertise. Have been a club member and their events are outstanding, an excellent value besides fun. Love their sister winery events with California and Washington too! During Covid they were the best and so respectful to members and their guests and now things are back to normal.

This is a beautiful estate with a fun cave tasting and a nicer tasting room under construction. Their staff was pleasant. We tasted only the 2021 vintage. All I can say is I hope this vintage is not characteristic of all their wines. We did not finish a single glass. The wines were hollow with strong acidity but no body to counter that, and age will not help them as there is no fruit to survive the mellowing of the acid. At $75 to $100 per bottle, the quality of the wines just don't stand up to the price--as confirmed by so many other reviews here. Regarding the wine quality, I see other positive reviews and cannot easily reconcile those with the wines we experienced. Perhaps other vintages are worthwhile? I doubt we will try again unless we happen to experience a good glass from another year at a restaurant.

We recently stopped by Archery Summit as part of a long day of tastings. The winery is on a high hill with breathtaking views, and the wine cave is even more impressive. We had a private tasting in the cave, and we were seated off to the side with our own little table. The server was very attentive and even brought a blanket for the cool air.
Unfortunately I was already burned out from tasting way too much wine. Good advice would be to schedule your tasting earlier in the day so that you can maximize the experience. Also there was a "false alarm" with a smoke detector that went off in the cave, forcing all of us to evacuate and continue the tasting outside on the patio.
I would definitely visit here again and give all of the Archery Summit wines another round of tasting.

To experience the best of Dundee, whether traveling from afar or as a local, Archery Summit is a stop not to be missed. The new tasting room space along with the historic wine caves showcase the wines and experience found only in Dundee, the heart of Oregon fine wines. The service has been consistently excellent as have their wines for over a decade. This is a place to take family, friends, clients, anyone who likes great Pinot's who you want to impress and enjoy your time with.

I previously awarded 5 stars but two recent visits and home experience with wines I have held cause me to downgrade. 3.5* is my actual rating - just better than average.
They are still a lovely tour and have very nice staff. I have many AS wines at home and have had little to no development of the wines under strict, proper cellaring conditions. I have stopped buying their wines as they do not develop with aging.
I have also stopped buying their wines as they have evolved to a more commercial Carneros-CA style wine on release. This to me is unattractive and not worth purchasing or holding for my taste.
