This isn't a place to visit if you want particular sights. It is a wonderful place to go for peaceful walks or runs. I go there with my dog several times a week. Every few weeks we visit the dog park, which is the best dog park in town for good space and array of dogs (Wayne Morse Ranch Park... More

With the exception of the Pre's Trail section of the park (which has a separate listing on Trip Advisor) I did not enjoy Alton Baker Park. There wasn't much to do or see when we were there. There didn't seem to be any place suitable for a picnic -- no grassy meadow type areas (there was some overgrown grass so... More

I like the Willamette a lot and its breadth and length make it great for rafting, tubing, nature viewing, etc... Fishing isn't that great here and I prefer the McKenzie for trout, especially up around Nimrod.

If you're going to hit the park, check out Skinners Butte park on the other side of the river. Alton Baker is covered in bird droppings and bugs, and isn't all that visually appealing. Skinners Butte is just a walk down the trail and has access to a kids park, lots of beautiful scenery, a great trail that goes to... More

My sister, son and I went walking through the park. There's a nice path to walk on, it follows along the river with walking bridges that crossover the river so you can walk along both sides.

An easy park in central Eugene, very close to Autzen Stadium. Located RIGHT on the Willamette river (yes, you can fish) with biking and running trails, lots of green grass to play (no play equipment- just open spaces) lots of parking. Nice ponds and water for children fishing also. They can try their luck and, and ponds are stocked in... More

Located near the historic "Ferry Street Bridge" and the Willamette River, this park is an attraction to those who enjoy wild waterfowl. It has a limited number of shelters but lots of open space for games and Frisbee. If you're in town to see Autzen Stadium it's also close by.

I grew up as this park was being built and it has only gotten better and better as time has gone by. Whether you want to run, walk, cycle or play friezbee golf, you can do it all here. Easy parking, restroom, water fountain and dog park. Good for family, couples and adults.

I love to hike through the many trails at Alton Baker Park all seasons of the year. There's a path by the Willamette River through the woods, also by the Millrace where people can rent a canoe. Runners enjoy Pre's Trail and you can also walk along a canal and enjoy the view of houses built by the water. You... More
