This spot is a hidden gem. A beautiful short walk through the trees (watch out for tree roots) leads to a pristine beach, which we had all to ourselves. It is about 1.1 miles north after the tunnel. Park on the east side and cross...More

Lovely and magical hike north of Florence, OR to the beach. We keep expecting to see sprites and forest nymphs. The trail is less than a mile and opens up onto a very private beach (The Hobbit Beach?).

Had a great hike (walk) the Beach near Haceta head and Lighthouse. The Hobbit to the beach is easy and not too long 1/2- 3/4 ml.. Going from the same start to the Lighthouse is longer and more difficult. Great rewards at the beach, seems...More

This is a nice little hike down to the beach. It's a little more work coming up. It's a half mile to the beach. You can make it longer and take the 1 1/2 mile to the lighthouse trail if you like to hike. There...More

Glad we found this listing for Hobbit Beach here on TA; it doesn't seem to be promoted as much as other places along this stretch of 101, but it's a really lovely beach, not overly crowded, with little waterfalls, tide pools, and some seriously weird...More

As someone who's not into hiking, this is an easy trek to a nice beach. It's a stroll through the woods until you get to the beach. The way back is also very easy and even someone not fit should be able to handle it....More

It's a pretty and short trail that leads to a great beach, but the trail itself isn't super unique if you're used to hiking in the area. Watch out for roots on the path. The parking area for the trailhead is across the street, and...More

This there and back trail to the beach is all downhill, so that means going back is all uphill. For people like me who are not used to physical exercise, it was a lot of huffing and puffing getting back to the car. Though it...More
