Don't be put off by the uphill walk to the lighthouse. It's not that far and unless you're in horrible physical shape, the hike to it shouldn't be an issue. My friends and I paid the $5 fee for the park entrance and ended up...More

I am so glad i decided to not stay at the bottom on the beach. The hike to the lightbouse is stunning. You are completely surrounded by trees the whole time and the air is so refreshing. At the top, you have the option to...More

A central Oregon Coast gem. The most photographed area of the coast. Lighthouse still operates and has been restored a few years ago. Great views.

We have visited the Heceta light and beach area on several occasions. It's hard not to visit during with some fog. My favorite spot to photograph the light is at the pullout on hwy 10 a little south of the light.

The lighthouse is gorgeous from the parking lot as well as up close. The walk is 1/2 mile to get to the lighthouse, which you are not allowed to go inside of. It is still worth the walk for the view. Beautiful home sits below...More

This was one of the many lighthouses we saw as we toured the west coast. They say that you can see whales during certain times of the year, but unfortunately we didn't see any. But the views of the ocean were breath-taking. Lots of hiking...More

Yes, I believe the trail is always open. It is a fair hike up there. The trail isn't really steep, but it does ascend about 1/2 mile in a fairly short distance. The view is well worth it, though, if you can handle the... More

I would expect not but the views and sounds of the ocean should be enough to keep you engaged.
